And then add the number of injuries. Certainly prior to Christmas, we were filling the bench with kids, injured players etc. and yet we kept winning.
Following the January transfer window, I was convinced we’d be making a push for automatics, but just did not kick on. Then after the penultimate game, fell out of the playoffs. Overall, was a fantastic squad acheivement.
Would like to see some comparison stats on;
How many players used in a season?
How many players scored?
How many weeks injured in total for the squad over the season?

Our injury problems are well talked about, and when you actually look at the numbers.....it's ****ing incredible that we did as well as we did! Of the players who played in the final the games missed are below, bearing in mind these are our best players and only 1 player, Egan was ever present with every other outfield player (McNair aside) missing a chunk of games, 7 of them missing at least a quarter of the season

Pandur, McNair and Egan had a relatively injury free season missing 1, 1, 0 respectively......after that tho

Coyle/Slater/Crooks - all missed 4 games due to injury
Giles - missed 10 games to injury
Ajayi - missed over 20 (incl time away at AFCON)
Hughes - missed 5 games and played through a double hernia
Millar - missed 16 games (10 at the start 6 later on)
Belloumi - missed >20 games across his initial rehad from ACL then 2 further injuries
McBurnie - missed 6 games in a 6 week period

Of the subs
Gelhardt - missed 8 games over the busy xmas period
Yu - missed 8 games
Lundstram - missed 14 games across 3 months
Drameh - missed 13 games

One more pod, one more pod, SydneyTiger...

We might try to do the odd pod next season either monthly or half season but weekly's going to be too tough I suspect. I do love the poetry of promotions in our first and last seasons!

Just been listening back to the Radio Humberside coverage of the post-match celebrations and it culminates at the very end in a lovely summary package of the day with Someone Like You as the backing track, and the commentary of the attack for the winning goal is brilliant. They speculate early in the attack that "this is the moment" and seemingly manifest the goal into existence, and the first you hear of the goal going in is Swanny screaming YES repeatedly. Really nice bit of passionate commentary I thought, and a beautiful package on the whole:

You ****er PLT, you made me cry!

I genuinely can't stop thinking about Saturday.

2016 didn't feel anything like this. The club was divided and I think we all expected the squad we had to go up automatically. We all knew what the Allam's did to the club, but last weekend has really put that into sharp focus for me.

We didn't sell that many tickets and I can't even remember whether we had a City celebration event afterwards. It really felt like the community didn't care. At the time, I was obviously aware of the issues but you kind of forgot what supporting a successful club that was pulling together felt like. Last weekend was a good reminder of how it could be. Hull felt buzzy, it felt like a proper invasion of London again and the celebrations were wild. Then on Monday it felt like the city was proud of the club again.

I wasn't sure that would ever come back after the Allam era yet here we are. What an incredible job Sergej and the coaching team, the players and Acun and the rest of the back room staff have done this season.

Now just don't say you want to change the name of the club.

Yeah, I had a bit of a tear in my eye listening to that but thought it was more to do with not being able to be there on the day, which I regret more than ever now.
I wonder if that’s why I’m still struggling to take it all in and can’t get my head around the fact that we’re back in the Prem!

Couldn't agree more ...keep watching highlights and looking back at pics and photos and stuff..2016 was expected too I think, we'd been up there all season and as a relegated team there was a level of expectation that was utterly absent this year, o ly expectations on us were us to get relegated by most pundits!

Personally having my 2 kids there, 9 and 12 made it all the more special, memories that'll last a life time for all of us. Magic just magic
