Pretty suspicious news from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
A "technical issue" regarding communication between the match officials has led to a delay in starting the second half.

That means the Spurs v Everton gave is now running about 7 minutes behind the West Ham v Leeds match.

Both second halves were supposed to begin at the same time.
So why was the second half start at West Ham not held up, until they were ready at Spurs?

Doesn’t really matter Everton appear to be on the beach already :emoticon-0138-think

Fair enough. Everton have done what they needed to do this season, they had no obligation to do West Ham any favours.

Tottenham will likely be right back here again next season regardless of how good their manager is supposed to be.
Unless they sort other matters out.

So West Han and Bolton complete the lineup. A couple of good fixtures

I think the Championship is a stringer league next season.
No Sheffield Wednesday or Leicester City (basket cases).
Even Wolves & Burnley will be tough opponents I think.

Even 6th place is going to be a hard task for many established Championship teams.

Is it next season that 8th spot gets you into the play-offs? If so, we should be aiming for that position.

I love the play-offs. I think they keep the season interesting for longer, ensuring fewer dead rubber matches, and allowing a late bloomer to go on a run and nab a berth. And a day out at Wembley is the icing on the cake.

I don't understand why some people are against the play-off system. Okay, so the third-place team could get knocked out by the sixth-place team, but that's just tough titty.

I forgot the play-offs were expanding next season.

No harm hoping to squeak into a place.
But I'll be satisfied with any place outside the bottom quarter, and to be safe by the end of March maybe.

Of course we have no idea what our summer business will be at the moment but I agree with Lardi that this looks like it will be a tougher division than the season just gone.

Progress would be consolidation. A finish around 16th would be very nice indeed

Not seeing away fans celebrating at the final whistle of home games would be good.

I don’t follow Spanish football but the Spanish World Cup team apparently has no players from Real Madrid <yikes>

Nice little spat brewing between Man Utd legend Keano and the current also-rans captain Fernandes...

How many years has it been that anyone even cares who got the most assists?
Talk about a storm in a :emoticon-0162-coffe

There was a time (Keane's time) when a 3rd place finish - 14 points behind the winners - would have been regarded as a poor show from United.
Now their praises are being sung, like they've achieved something.

60 known Palace trouble-makers...

If they were known, why were their passports not taken off them?
Lack of resources I suppose.

So, the Unity Cup has been taking place at The Valley. It's the final on Saturday. Apparently, it has a real festival vibe with music, dancing and great, authentic food from India, Jamaica etc.

Sounds terrific, so I gave it some thought,.. But then I saw the price of a ticket: £105.

I'm not tight and I could afford it, but that is a blatant rip-off. Who on earth pays that to watch Zimbabwe?

I'm out.

Thanks for bringing my attention to this @Ponders Revisited
Kick off time for the first match is 2:30pm, I wonder if there will be parking restrictions.
If so, they may affect my usual Saturday visit to my old mum. She'll be just thrilled.
