Tonda's future at the club

They aren’t going to use that wording on Sky or whatever obviously, but that is going to be the jist of what they are saying.

If he stays do you honestly not see this rumbling on?
Not far past the verdicts from anything open no.

Most people not connected to the club aren't really that interested or are part of the media stirring and that will die down once the media gets bored of it. ie fans on the next games will be "reminded" by the media for a bit but not forever.

It also depends on the outcome of those open processes.

If the FA give him a slapped wrist and the club say the results of the inquest internally discarded any claim of coercion then we'd move on and my view is a young man made a mistake pushing on the sporting rules and he's been reprimanded for it - we move on and storm the league fairly next season (as there is also no real evidence that the club will go into total meltdown - we're still a good club that has money and has a solid chance of getting to the PL and if Tonda is as good as he looks to be then we'll win the league.

If the reverse is true then the club and him will part ways and we'll go looking the next one and next season is less uncertain.

Do I condone the fact he cheated. No, but I'm not a sportsman and not in that type of environment and I see what he did (coercion claims aside as that is a different can of worms and should be tackled separately) as similar to someone using the wrong type of trainers in a marathon or different materials in a racing yacht or being underweight in an F1 car - it was pushing the rules for sporting advantage and when found out you get a sporting sanction.

I think he will get a warning about future conduct. I hope the fa show common sense.hNot my view, but outside views hecost Soton promotion and likely to be sacked. Has destroyed his brand etc etc.
My view is he has been naive over the verge of being stupid. Won't comment on the bullying without context.i am generally on the side of he is young and needs to be mentored......but we should do everything to retain his services. When was the last time.e we had such a driven person to succeed, probably Cortese. They don't grow on trees.. We let the last o e slip away
Not even sure it is bullying, as someone who joined the forces at fifteen and was screamed at and intimidated from the start I never considered I was bullied but trust I developed into a person who could treat others compassionately, youngsters have to man up a bit....Christ I sound old!

This is one of those things where people get puffed up with righteous indignation, then after a short passage of time realise that it wasn’t that big in the scheme of things. No one was bribed, no player was nobbled, no sexy siren convinced someone to throw a game. A rule was broken and we suffered greatly for it. We aren’t big enough to last long in the news. Tomorrow’s chip paper.
Especially if 115 charges happen to come home to roost!

I'd be very interested in understanding what alleged "bullying" occurred here...

The whole saga has been blown out of all proportion at every possible step. If Tonda saying do a better job next time is bullying, as it seems to originate from, then that represents some significant societal weakness and devalues genuine bullying.

Christ some of the best managers of all times were bastards and they are revered by basically everyone ever.

Even if Tonda is saying 'your last analysis wasn't much use, I expect something more insightful this time' then it's not bullying per se... and isn't much different to the sort of conversation you might have with a senior in a more corporate workplace if they're a direct operator

Well yeah, it's run of the mill stuff if the work you submit is of a poor standard..

Yep, Brian Clough punch Roy Keane years back*

* Other players names can be exchanged as he did it to many players.

I suspect that England’s progress or otherwise in the World Cup will take over any media interest in the very near future, with any mention of Spygate relegated to ‘humourous’ asides by commentators, whenever England get caught out by clever set pieces

Absolutely. People these days would have kittens if they knew the sort of **** which gets thrown about as a new recruit in any uniformed/disciplined service even now

I'd say there's a good chance pressuring junior staff into breaking the EFL's rules when they've said they don't want to would be considered bullying.

Like the 9-0’s. Everyone’s forgotten them, not!
Edit: Maybe that’s just me, who won’t let it go.‍

One of the things that annoyed me about the 9-0's was the number of pundits who were practically salivating at the idea that we only deserved 10 points in our Premiership season of ignominy. Sheesh. Kick a man when he's down, why don't you?

He’s the reason Argentina didn’t win the World Cup apparently

I don't think anyone did, just think we were completely outplayed in the first half.
Which makes the spying all the more annoying - it didnt help us and if we hadnt sent Will Salt to confirm Hayden Hackney wasn't training, no-one would have been any the wiser.

I am though 100% sure Boro were tipped off about Salt and were looking for him from the whistleblower.
