Ahh, I see the forum is back in business...................at least some more good news............

4 year deal.
2 years for Ng which will take him until he's 32.

It'll be interesting to see who else leaves besides Wintle.
Somone will get a bargain in Wintle. He wont be short of offers.

Etete has a year left on his contract. Do we buy him out? Or look for a loan deal.
Robinson contracted to 2027 as is Chambers.

Just realised Roko Simic is still with us as well. <yikes>

So, Daland, Simic and Etete to lose before we even get to the likes of Chambers and Robinson.
Simic may get a stay of execution - not sure how much of him BBM has seen?? In saying that, he himself may want out given that he still hasn't kicked a ball for us yet.

Daland is a bit of a shame as he really showed some good flashes of ability, but we are pretty well stocked at CB if all the others stay now.

Could you see Daland staying if Chambers moved on? Moves the age profile and wage bill in the right direction.
I assume BBM and his staff will have been keeping an eye on Daland and Simic to allow a decision to be made. Or is it a case of BBM has already seen who he wants to bring in and the rest are collateral damage?
I feel BBM would be fair on players, giving them a chance. He showed that last season. On the flip side, the Wintle situation shows he's not afraid to make big calls. The safe option for was to offer Wintle a new contract, probably the cheaper option too. A salary for Wintle or possibly £1.5M and a salary for Charlie Savage. Wintle was also a known quantity, respected by his peers. Sends a message to the rest of the squad. However, if our midfield doesn't function in the coming season, the fans will question the decision.
To be fair, I can be a bit safety first, but I respect BBM for making the call he did. He's put himself in the firing line.

Edit: Simic signed a 4 year deal in 2024 so has another 2 years on his contract. His 1 year loan to Karlsruher includes an option to buy, but with only 9 appearances and 1 goal during the year, execution of that option is questionable.

Remind me, was it Simic who we signed and then immediately loaned him to Tan's other club? I can't remember the circumstances now but someone must have seen something in him?:emoticon-0112-wonde

Yes. But the loan was cut short.

Not sure which of our managers signed him. Or was it a club signing?

On 30 August 2024, Šimić signed a four-year contract with Cardiff City. Two days later, he was loaned to Kortrijk in Belgium for one season. The loan was terminated on 6 January 2025.

On 28 June 2025, Šimić moved on a new loan to Karlsruher SC in German 2. Bundesliga, with an option to buy.

Just thinking about our transfer business this summer.
Never mind trickle down economics, theres usually trickle down signings. The big boys do their business, the next tier know what / who they need to replace and so on.
It can often be quite late in the window when business gets done.

Will the WC compound the problem?
Injuries at the WC changing recruitment plans. Players not wanting to think about moving until the WC is out of the way.

I just hope we can get one or two in early. Or out even.

Click bait, or is Tan ready to splash cash?

If midfielders are coming in, we'll need to get a couple out. Its already looking congested in there even with Wintle gone.

King, Dak, Turnbull, Robertson, Colwill jnr. The numbers are Ok, need to make sure the balance is right.

City definitely need strengthening in central midfield.

A strong Centreback to follow Salech from the Swedish League?

Wrong thread Sparks?

Looks useful. Out of contract this summer at Elfsborg. Aged 25 so the right age parameter.

If we want him, get him on board early so BBM can knock off any edges from Swedish football and get him used to our playing style.

However we need to offload Daaland ASAP and possibly Chambers to lower the wage bill.

If we don't we are overloaded with cb's.

<doh>........I'll swap it out to the correct transfer rumours thread. <ok>

Plenty of rumours circling about players we're interested in, mainly in CM.
A few things dont sit right for me. Firstly it's claimed these players will cost £2-4M, secondly its a congested area of the squad anyway and thirdly, we seem to have more pressing areas for improvement.

If BBM isn't looking for a squad overhaul and is after quality, not quantity, a CM possibly isnt where I'd expect big business or we'll be disappointed elsewhere.

It'll be interesting to see what he's got up his sleeve.

A 22 year old 24 cap Estonian international is the latest rumour.
