I actually can't transfer my feelings to words in the way I would do this club justice.

Kyril deserves something special in tribute for his contribution to this city in the last 5 years. The stuff we are used to, straight out the window, hes made even the biggest believers look like mugs with the way he's ran this club.

Reg, we all have things to say about, good and bad. Mostly good, how could it not be? He's taken a team expected to finish mid table in the Championship to a team expected to finish bottom of the Prem...

Regis, you are a credit to the sport.

Xhaka, Granit fkn Xhaka, I think I am in love.

I remember not rating him that much at Arsenal, thinking his discipline was part of their problem.

When I saw the possibility he could be coming here, I was so excited and relieved, he is captain material to the core. I didn't anticipate the beauty he would bring. I always thought "this man won't allow us to go down" as arrogant as that sounds, but he has risen us on and off the pitch. Its like it doesn't matter who else is around, he is always gonna keep the expectations and professionalism to a high standard.

Seeing him stand there like an adonis upon qualifying for the Europa League, I can't help but gently weep.

Dear Sunderland,

I just want to say… we’ve had our ups and downs over the years. We’ve been through it all.

From Wembley heartache to double relegation. Away days at Fleetwood and Bristol. We’ve had our fallouts and we’ve made up. We’ve sat through the rain in a half-empty stadium. We’ve had owners who tried, then gave up. Owners who used us and thought we were stupid… until we found them out.

We were laughed at by some and gained respect from most on Netflix. But it’s always darkest before the dawn, and I can’t stay mad at you forever. And I’m sorry for bringing up the ex.

Then along came an owner that got us. An owner that cared ,still cares and had a plan. We got a manager no one had heard of. Some questioned it because of the scars of the past, because mistrust had become second nature.

But the manager worked.

Wembley heartache was banished in fantastic style one year ago. The experts had us written off before a ball was even kicked in the promised land. But we had a plan. We blocked out the noise.

“If you build it, he will come.”

And the “he” became a team. A team that shared the owner’s and manager’s vision. A captain that’s a winner. We entered the league and we stuck together… till the very end.

We blew away every doubt from the outsiders.

And today… today, you beautiful, beautiful thing… you took us to Europe.

Hard work. Belief. Tenacity. Togetherness. That won the day.

Til the end.

Lots of love,

From the Red and White Army. x

All those ****ers that slated Kyril for not spending should hang there head in shame. The amount of arguments I had on the Echo site about whether he was an asset stripper was unbelievable. John Haley rings a bell.
Anyway **** them all, we are flying baby.
