And we’re back (again) - 5 races in 11 weeks, but it feels like we’ve barely got going, despite the fact that we’re only just over the “race every 2 weeks” historical norm.
Back to back sprints for the first time I think - the reprogramming of the audience continues.
Some interesting driver market stories in the news in the build up.
- Max implying that if the 60/40 PU rules get through, he’s likely to stay and that he’s very happy at RedBull
- Hamilton confirms he has a firm contract with Ferrari through ‘28 and that he’s currently minded to stay in F1 beyond that
Other things I’m looking out for.
- Worst circuit we’ve been to for energy yet and a better test of the rules tweaks
- Mercedes and McLaren (again) have big upgrade packages, can Ferrari (not likely to be a good circuit for their engine) and RedBull hang on to the lead pack?
- Strong circuit for Russell and Hamilton, who could both do with hitting back against their team mates.
- Can Hadjar get back close to Max in an improved RedBull or are we witnessing his transformation into another classic RedBull Second driver as the car improves?
