Absolute donuts!

Sack em all, go again.

At least we’re in for an exciting Summer… in fairness, we were all calling for the reset button when we were 21st in the league only a few months ago! We’re just back to where we thought we were in November

It feels awful now, and there's a HUGE job to do in terms of rebuilding the club, and rebuilding trust. If Spors genuinely isn't involved in the spying stuff, I hope he stays as he's our best chance of doing that, and he really, really should be breaking his balls to sort this out for us now.

By the time the new season rolls around, I very much suspect we'll be back into the circus of it all and be as excited as ever. New manager, new players etc etc. Take a deep breath everyone. This too shall pass.
So it seems ok to knowingly cheat over a number of seasons breaching fair play rules and be docked 6 to 20 pints. That would be sanctioned at the highest level in those clubs but the exec don’t really face any punishment.

Southampton who did something really stupid and they probably didn’t gain a lot have been really torn a new one.

Punish us for sure but don’t destroy and kill the club for especially when you haven’t published a list of punishment that might be imposed.

I guess Sky wanted the big final so the only way to work for them was to give a reprieve to Middlesbrough

Come on the Tigers

But financially how desperate are we to get promoted for the extra money. I hope it hasn’t put us in a position where we get docked 3 trillion points.

Oh that FFP stuff is all a nonsense.

You have every right to be though. This is the most emotional I've ever felt about any of the teams I follow across all sports. Ever. Thank god there's a WC in 4 weeks so I can at least be let down by England to complete the football fans bingo card.
I’m not really bothered by the WC for a few reasons
1. It’s partly in the states who aren’t in my favourite country list due to Trump.
2. The ticket prices are extortionate
3. There are too many teams in it now.
4. How can you do it sensibly across 3 very large countries
5. Late night games will either affect my beauty sleep or my liver. Quite possibly both
6. The worse one will be Trump holding on to the trophy like it’s his and proclaiming that it’s the biggliest and best ever World Cup and is now called the Trump World Cup.

I don't see any situation where he can stay on, nor do I want to. Could be a brilliant coach but he won't be doing that here.

The culture around the analytics and coaching team is just tragic:

- Memes about the spying.

- Dressing up as Eastleigh Staff.

- Pressure from Eckert to junior analysts over the poor quality of their surveillance.

- The absolute determination and importance tied to gathering this information. Like come on - there's so much you can learn from the footage of actual games, did we really need whatever we were gathering? So much to risk it before the biggest game of the season when it was probably so much more likely we'd get caught? Eckert himself said the big games are ran by the players - why did we need extra details on our opposition?

- The totally amateur set-up of our last dance spy mission. It's like they weren't even trying to be covert. Does every team do it, so we believed if we got caught it wouldn't be a big deal as the victims wouldn't really care?

From Tonda's POV I would love to know if it was just arrogance and belief that we wouldn't get caught, or genuine ignorance to the rules, or he trusted the analytics department to know the rules and perform the surveillance within these parameters?

When he goes, would be fascinating to see if he comes out and explains it all.

Oh he was involved without a doubt, Eckert will be banned and Spors might be lucky to avoid one. I'm with you, this will pass. I've moved from outraged about us to outraged about the decision in 24 hrs, I'll move on to something else in the next 24 no doubt. Our best hope is that this becomes an open secret and acknowledged part of 'the game'. Remove the stigma and holier than thou vibes that have washed over everyone for some reason and stop pretending like watching an opponents training session is the worst thing that a football club can do.

I imagine the club are tyring to work out if they legally have to pay little (or any) compensation to the management staff who openly admitted to orchestrating the spying.
No surely you can just sack them if they have bought the club into disrepute

I am sure you can, but there is still a HR process to follow to stop you from getting sued for a few ££££

EDIT: re-read yours and what I mean is that in his T&C there may still be outstanding holiday or even notice depending on reason of termination.

I think the Eastleigh one is the worst for me. Disgraceful to involve a local non league club like that.

Could cost them money too, I doubt any of our opposition will be wanting to use their facilities next season.

This is the kind of Bullshit journalism that has really pissed me off over this. Cheats don’t prosper. Yes they do mate. Man City, Chelsea, Forest, Everton, Leicester who have cheated through a whole season with City for several seasons. West Ham with the Tevez saga etc. The bigger teams make up the rules as they go along.
Journalist continue to laud Man City and Pep’s achievements whilst knowing that they’ve for a record number of breaches to answer for, but Southampton are the cheats. No, the manager and more than likely, sporting Director, were the cheats.
But our crime was to get a bare minimum advantage, whilst the named clubs blatantly cheated over the course of the whole season, or 10.

I don’t think that you can say that Boro have rightfully got to the final. They got it because Gibson was able to execute a campaign to trash our club. I’d have been happy with Hull getting a bye and promoted.
