I’m not Acun’s biggest fan, as most of you will probably know, but I think him being a passionate gobshite actually works in our favour this time. If we don’t go up, he should be like a dog with a bone about it. That’s exactly what Gibson did and I’m 99% certain him leaking stuff to the press pressured the IDC into expelling Southampton.

It’s essentially been a kangaroo court trial by media. We might think it’s taken too long given the circumstances but they’ve expedited the process to be a lot quicker than most of their rulings. Our transfer fee restriction appeal took ****ing ages in comparison. They’ve had an appeal done and dusted a day after the original judgement. I’m all for kicking Southampton out because they’re cheating bastards and brought the game into disrepute but there’s no denying that this process has been tainted by the pressure from the media and the owner of the offended party. A lot of the evidence would’ve been inadmissible in a court of law.

So if that’s how the EFL operates, on an arbitrary basis, then Acun has every right to pressure them and try to back them into a corner for his and our gain.

Gibson may have whinged and moaned but he's done it before the event and some may say it's had an influence on the result.
What would the point be of Acun complaining after the event? What could be his and our gain? It would just come across as sour grapes especially if we lose. That in turn would give a open door for those who already dislike Acun to criticise him even more.

It's done, it's over, let's move on and win the game on the pitch. That's what counts now.

I would have been gutted had the final been moved as my two kids wouldn’t have been able to attend due to exams. Similarly an automatic promotion would have felt underwhelming having being robbed of our Wembley day.

I would have preferred us have played Southampton as the rest of the football world would have been hoping for us to win. If we lose to Boro though, it will feel like an injustice as they shouldn’t really be in the final in the first place.

What was Richard Gardham doing on GMB!?
Sorry if I put you off your corn flakes. I do a semi-regular City fan TV thing for That's TV and GMB approached me through that to ask me to give some reaction to the appeal verdict, which was recorded last night. As is always the case with these things, you do 25 minutes of answering questions for 25 seconds of footage.

Cheer up folks, we’ve got a match on Saturday! Every team does its research on their opponents, but Soton were caught cheating, so no talk of Boro being beaten fair and square. No one will ever know how fair it was. So, we have a change of opponent, but I’m sure Sergej and his team had this possibility covered. We just need to make sure we turn up in numbers, sing up loud and proud and see what the Tigers still have in their tank. Can’t bloody wait!

Good point. As it all final settles down and the sun is going to be shining bright on Saturday here come VAR to say hello.
Talking of 'Sun',it's forecast for 29 degrees this Saturday:emoticon-0104-surpr

That's enough to bring about heatstroke, vasodilation, hyperhidrosis, lower leg edema and organ failure to someone travelling from North of Hadrians wall...

(Don't forget your flip-flops,Hawaiian tropic and Old Spice Deodorant,Glasgow)

Yep

Gelhardt would have been off with var against millwall for example

It must be strange as a player playing 48 games with no var
To suddenly var

Yeah I was a bit concerned about this when we were playing Saints. A lot of their team will have recent experience of it. Just little things like tugging in the box etc probably easy to slip the players mindsz

If the game is 0-0 at 60 minutes I think we’ll win.

Go with the same tactics as against Millwall (Joffy in for Joseph) and bring Belloumi on to run riot against a tiring hot back line.
