Do you have this much issue with players "cheating" the ref in a game to win a penalty that sends Hull up, for instance? Should Hull be kicked out afterwards for cheating the other team out of £200 million? Should the final be replayed? Should the player be banned from football for 6 months? All teams cheat, even yours, to gain an advantage. That's modern football for you unfortunately.
Or by not paying for players....

The ****ing gall of a club on a transfer embargo lecturing about cheating

I don’t honestly see how this stands up in court if saints go hammer and tongs with some good lawyers.

The punishment t makes no sense at all.
The EFL let two games to be played in-between the charges against us. They had every opportunity to postpone the matches and expedite a hearing. You can't think its fair to kick Southampton out of the playoff final...and reinstate a team that lost over 210 minutes of football. The EFL have also dropped a clanger in all of this.

Yep. If there was even a small chance that this extreme punishment was going to happen, they should have postponed everything.

Now they effectively have to overturn a result.

Not to mention - why should Boro get through? They should have to play Milwall. It’s all just a farce.

Honestly initially I was pissed off at the EFL for what I saw as a disproportionate punishment, even with the new rules I couldn't fathom how Leeds could get off with 200k and we get this.

But with time I am pointed firmly at Sports Republic, its just another example of the utter amateur hour bollocks they have brought to the club, if this sticks then we have to throw the full weight of the anger from this at them.

Next season needs to be a season ticket boycott until they go.

If it bankrupts the club then so be it, if we end up in League Two so be it, unless we do that we will be treated as an MK Dons tier football club for the rest of time. It will be time to force a hard reset.

It's really not. Football is played on the pitch. How can you say you lost a game because we knew your set piece routine, whilst conceding 6 goals in the process?
I’m not saying that at all. What you are saying just underlines how ridiculous of us it was to do it. All I’m saying is although incredibly harsh it’s a completely logical punishment for cheating

I understand what you're saying, and the EFL have the powers to pretty much do whatever they want (and we are the sole reason for the punishment) but the precedent they have set for other teams i.e. Leicester last summer who won the Championship whilst in breach of FFP only got a points deduction means that this has essentially come out of "nowhere".

Totally agree with you on this. If every breach was treated with the harshest possible punishment noone would do it anymore

The keeper thing is an advantage, and fine if you get the info from match footage, but not if you watch a team practicing them in the days before a match.
All the keeper stuff with penalties is interesting. I remember reading articles about how in the shoot out in the euros final last summer the England women's goalkeeper threw the Spanish keeper's water bottle (which had all the info about England's players written on it) into the crowd to screw her over, and this was presented as a clever thing to do. Which feels weird, but then the England Women's team are/were flavour of the month so they can get away with that sort of thing without the press going mad.

Biggest scandal in the club's history that's for sure. What can you say. I personally hope Tonda doesn't walk as he's a winner and could come back stronger.

It all depends on whether he was involved or not. If he was, then he has to go, if he wasn't, then he should stay on and fight to clear his name. As I said before, this could galvanise the team if many of them were unaware of it.

So if we score a last minute goal from a free kick which shouldnt have been given then the final should be replayed and we should be kicked out for cheating the opposition out of £200 million. Complete difference as this is pure gamesmanship which every team does countless times during each game whereas you’ve spied to gain an advantage to win a game leading to potential promotion. Need to talk about the scale of our ‘cheating’ compared to yours
