You might be right about the four pointer being the token to be removed after any appeal.I think the 4 points deduction has been given on the understanding that when Soton appeal theyll have it removed. If Soton win the appeal fully then Boro will appeal surely?
Yeah, it was three judges who made the judgement Smug, but I'm not sure about their Terms of Reference. The Terms of Reference would have been issued by the commissioning body, which I would think would be the EFL.
Spot on. Their fans are furious, but they should be looking at their club, who are still behaving in the most ridiculous tin eared way.So not only were they caught cheating during the final exams theyve admitted copying the coursework as well. Alot of them seem to be directing their anger at the EFL, Boro, Steve Gibson. They need to direct their anger at their own club. Some are demanding a refund on every single penny theyve spent on following them this season. However Im not sure whether they are directing this at their club or the EFL.
Spot on mate, I have no sympathy with them, especially the way some of their players went on during the second legJust a wild guess but I'd assume the Terms of Reference say, 'Don't keep trespassing on private land to gain an advantage on your opponents' ...
... or words to that effect.
They're cheats and don't deserve to benefit from cheating. If Sunderland had done that against Coventry and Sheff Utd I'd see that achievement as tainted and wouldn't feel the same about our club tbh.
I can see your argument (and agree with it!), but the principal is that they cheated Boro in the first leg who may have won (probably the first leg, but the spying might have affected the second leg as well) their play off matches, and as the competition isn't over they have to forfeit their place in the final. It's a mess really and some senior people at Southampton need to pay for it.It should be Hull promoted really as Southampton are their opponents and they've been expelled. Putting Boro in so they don't lose their Wembley money spinner.
Nowt against Boro personally, so hope it's them.Who would people prefer up now. Reckon any could threaten staying up next season?
Apparently they can't. Only Southampton have the right to appeal, even though it affects Boro just as much as them.I think the 4 points deduction has been given on the understanding that when Soton appeal theyll have it removed. If Soton win the appeal fully then Boro will appeal surely?
Wasn't it Harwood-Bellend that was winding Ayling up about his stammer? If it was your right double karmaIsnt Karma a great thing ....

Hull deserve their day at Wembley and Boro didn't deserve being spied on thereby having their plans disrupted.
Hull would've had to have played Southampton, in any case, so it's not a hammer blow having to play Boro.
And, being selfish, I'm now looking forward to the game whereas I wouldn't have watched Southampton play.
Have they been sanctioned for just spying on Boro or is it a broader punishment for breaking EFL rules rather than an offense with a specific victim?I can see your argument (and agree with it!), but the principal is that they cheated Boro in the first leg who may have won (probably the first leg, but the spying might have affected the second leg as well) their play off matches, and as the competition isn't over they have to forfeit their place in the final. Swindon was due to financial irregularities before the finalHave they been sanctioned for just spying on Boro or is it a broader punishment for breaking EFL rules rather than an offense with a specific victim?
When Swindon were kicked out was it for an offense against us in the final or a something previously?
Swindon were fiddling the books throughout the season so nothing to do with Sunderland.Have they been sanctioned for just spying on Boro or is it a broader punishment for breaking EFL rules rather than an offense with a specific victim?

Text from my colleague,
“Right,
How many James Bond film titles into the meeting tomorrow? How many times can we say spy, final, play off and points without them catching on and shall we wear green?”
I’d guess it hasn’t been the first time.Swindon were fiddling the books throughout the season so nothing to do with Sunderland.
As far as Southampton are concerned, spying on your opponents is breaking EFL rules ...
... the fact they've, so far, been found to have done that against three teams is enough to condemn them.
As it happens I'd expect the entire Championship is going through their CCTV, who knows what they might find.
