I'd don't understand do the investors pay and get their cash back in some advantageous way?

Well yes, they pump cash in to take a percentage of the club which is used for dividends and eventually saleable for profit. I’d imagine where we are as a club, with a valuation of around £1bn already (which is something like 30% yoy growth), represents a huge investment opportunity as the owners could argue the potential is up to £5bn. It’s also football, it’s a well protected industry with only relegation the threat and even that is easy enough to mitigate against. So I could see them selling 10% at an inflated rate (remember PIF have sold one share before at £40m, “valuing” the club at something like £30tn or something stupid) and putting £200-300m straight into a stadium project.

By all accounts in spite of concerns they were on their way out, the opposite seems true.

Newcastle have just bought part of Leazes Terrace for £25m.

Lots of potential permutations, such as no objections to right of light (to expand stadium) plus change from student to hospitality, or could be buddying up with Uni to look to stadium move into Leazes Park.

All positive though.

Awful to hear about it catching fire in a few weeks time.

But PIF are not committed.

And some wonder why others on here get sick of negative drivel based entirely on nothing.
It's a start and probably the first sign of something bigger. Lets hope this summer is truly transformative but until I see planning applications approved and diggers on site - I still wont believe it will happen.

Looking a bit sheepish there, Thomas. <laugh>

Can someone get a slice of humble pie for Awaymag, please.

Not sheepish at all. I stand by my assertion that PIF are glacial and Howe will be sacked by November. At this current time there is no new training ground or a decision on the stadium. It's 5 years since takeover..... tick tock
