I don't think there's any realistic chance of the date moving and I'm going to stick my neck out and say that everything will be confirmed by tomorrow afternoon latest.

Stick your neck out a bit further and say what will be confirmed.

My money’s on massive anticlimactic cop out.

Modest fine, touchline ban and the intern will be grounded for a week.

Manager banned from the play-off final, a £500k fine, a 10 point deduction and Southampton have to play in a Portsmouth kit next season.

If it was to get moved it would surely be to 7th June and they’d work overtime to break down the stage from the night before.

It’s not going to happen but that’s the only viable option without upsetting any other sporting events. Maybe the challenge cup or the women’s fa cup final gets ****ed off elsewhere?

Moving the date ends up punishing city which im sure wed kick up a fuss

Theres only 3 realistic options

GIve city an automatic win

KIck southampton out and boro in the final

Fine southampton(maybe points deduction next efl season)
Ban tonda from final

I will go out on a limb here and say

Southampton will get some sort of fine

And tonda and maybe his staff banned from the play off final

It should and very well could be a complete ban from football involvement for a year or so. FIFA have already set that precedent for this very offence.

I agree. It's a total balls up and massive embarrassment to the EFL but money usually prevails in these situations.
To move or indeed cancel the Championship Play Off Final may well be an option but in reality it's not going to happen.
Just the logistics of cancelling such a massive event at Wembley at such short notice is mind blowing.
Too much money is at stake, too much money has already been laid out and too many plans are already in place.
I just cannot see it being cancelled.

Same day as the challenge cup. Rovers play early say 11.00 and we play in the afternoon.

I cant see the date being moved. There are the thousands of fans who have already paid for hotels and trains. I know the EFL probably don't give a **** about that but there is also the issue of the world cup. Each team will have players expected to fly out to their camps and the world cup starts 11th June. I think they will bottle it and a points deduction for next season. Will be a nice feeling though knowing the whole of the country want us to win the final.
