I’m actually glad we’ve got Southampton now. I don’t particularly like Boro but they’re a Yorkshire club and they’ve not behaved in such a scummy, underhanded way. I have a certain respect for Boro that I don’t have for Southampton. I like it when I can hate the other team.

Yep
Honestly just a ****ish club
Nothing at all to like about them

Harwood bellis is a right ****
I remember when he played against scunthorpe when he was younger and bragging about his salary

Their head coach genuinely has a serial killer vibe about him

Sleekly removes one leather glove, slaps it across the prisoner's cheek and murmurs:

“Now… tell me the date of the invasion.”

Points deduction -whatever league they are in next year they start on - 10 (reduced to 6 on appeal)
but that makes no sense when the offence was this season as was any advantage they might have got. Needs a quick decision, which should be do-able as they admit the offence, with the punishment applied to the correct season.
Unfortunately can't see them having the balls to do the right thing.

When teams breach FFP - and gain an advantage - they are not punished in the season the breach occurred, as that would be impossible.

They also haven't admitted the offence.

Don't think they'll get a points deduction if they're PL, it'll be their next EFL season.
New agreement between the EFL and PL where the EFL can request their sporting sanctions like points deductions apply in the PL. It’s not automatic but there would be little reason for the PL to object.

Awful thing to have happened to Boro, but whats the best scenario for us here? We have to play one of them in the final, if its Boro I think they'll feel a bit weird about losing the play offs but getting a pass to the final, and if its Southampton I think maybe they'll feel a bit awkward about the whole thing.

Is it win win for us? Going into it as the only team who's fully deserving to be there. Or does it all count for nothing on the day? <laugh>

Pointless punishment if they go up, next time they’re here the management will be completely different as will most the players. Will be punishing an innocent team and the perpetrators won’t give a ****.

Massive fine is the only option I reckon about £250k.
