We have an awful record at Chelsea and incredibly an even worse record at home.

I don't think anyone is remotely confident, and it reflected in the performance tonight.

Maddison returning is huge for us. He's got over a week now to continue building his fitness.

If Toon can beat West Ham, I'll breathe easier. But can't see that happening.
even if you lose both WHam would need 4 pts (unless you get absolutely battered both games) and can't see it myself

Last home game and Howe needs a win so not sure why everyone thinks West Ham will win on Sunday. Then they have Leeds who we’ve been told all week will be wanting to finish as high as they can so will keep on going for it. They’ve lost their last 2 whereas we’ve got 8 points from 12. Only disappointing thing is it should probably be 12 from 12 for us.

Eh?

They need 3pts mate. One win does it.

I agree with DH. I can see them winning both.

Which means we need 4pts and our GD will do the rest.

Nah we’re only 2 ahead of them. If we do lose both which feels very possible, they’d only need 1 win, which also feels very possible.

We never beat Chelsea and we can’t win at home.

Probably should have taken that £40m for Bergvall in January and moved on.

He looks totally lost out there. No idea what to do or how to do it.

I initially thought pen but the replay does show Nmecha gets the ball first.

Both VAR calls were correct.
No way. No issue with the one we conceded but our one, corrupt AF. League title is done so must ensure relegation goes to last day.

Tel got the ball as well

I don't think he did. The Leeds player gets to it first because of the height difference.

But I do think he (Ampadu?) moves his head in a downward motion hoping for contact with Tel's boot, which is why I didn't initially think it should have been a penalty.

A moment of idiocy from Tel.

Wouldn't have mattered if Richarlison could score from 3 yards out, mind.

Still seething about that.

Some of the refs yellows were terrible calls but the VAR calls were correct. It’s not even a debate on that I’m afraid.
No way are they overturning that if given. Next to the West Ham handball against us, that’s the worst one we’ve had

Yeah it was the yellows I'm flabbergasted about. Zero consistency.

I can't recall a single game we've played involving Pawson or Gillet that I haven't felt hard done by at the end of.

The ref for our game at Villa was superb, so it is possible.

It’s really not.

I’m no fan of VAR and there’s been some highly questionable calls over the years but the replay shows Nmecha getting the slightest of touches on the ball. VAR essentially done its job there, unfortunately for us.

Their penalty was clear I am afraid and I'm surprised it took VAR so long to make the call.
I'm still not sure about the Maddison decision though. I don't think the two angles they relied on definitely showed the ball deviating. And they made the decision very quickly without showing arguably the better angle.

As for the other decisions/non decisions and cards by Giller, well that was farcical. The guy is either totally incompetent or bent, but as he had every opportunity to give the Leeds penalty straight off I'm guessing it is the former.

He’s the epitome of how bad this club has done in the market over the years.

Richarlison - £60m
Solanke - £65m
Gray - £40m
Tel - £30m
Odobert - £25m
Gallagher - £35m

And these are just from the current squad. We’ve wasted mind boggling amounts of money on players that haven’t improved us one iota and it’s been happening for about 7 years barring a few exceptions.

Individual brain farts must have cost us 20 points across this season, Danso v Brighton, VDV v Palace, Tel today etc etc the list is endless, add that to endless missed chances from our poverty forward line and you see the result.

Chelsea have been absolute dogshiete of late, but you just know they will be on it when they face Spurs, facking hate that club, I can see Moyes` dogs of war doing a number on us also, given our fear of playing at home. It`s going to be arce clenching stuff.

First glances I definitely thought Madders was fouled but the front view replay shows a toe on the ball from Nmecha. Gutting for us but correct.

I think all VAR calls were right though (which makes a change for those incompetent idiots in stockley park!). DCL was offside, Tel was an idiot and Nmecha (just) gets the ball.
