The draw against Bristol has taken most of the excitement out of this. Still a bit excited though.
True, but a win tonight will at least take it to the last day. That said I can’t see QPR getting anything from them on Saturday.

You honestly never know how games can go in this league. Win tonight & there’s 1 point in it. Oxford aren’t as bad as their league position suggests & QPR can pull wins off when they want to! It’s unlikely, but stranger things have happened & all the pressure will be on Ipswich and Millwall as no one expected us to get to this point. Either way, the players need us fully behind them & momentum on their side if we are destined for the playoffs!!! Need to get a result tonight to bounce straight back from Saturday. Strong team:

Peretz,
Bree, THB, Wood, Manning,
Jander, Bragg
Fellows, Azaz, Scienza
Larin

This is gonna be weird but in some ways I kinda hope we don't win tonight. If we do it'll put some weird expectation/hope on Saturday that we might get promoted and will make the atmosphere worse when that invariably doesn't happen.

Nah, whilst its still mathematically possible (despite the odds being hugely against us) I will believe.

Must win tonight. Even if its just to stop Ipswich all but securing it at our place.

I just think the physical and mental exertions of Wembley will get the better of us tonight. We have battle and heart, but I just see us coming up short because of the schedule and Wembley. Ipswich will also be perfectly happy with a draw tonight. Even a loss isn't the end of the world as a win for them against QPR would still be enough for 2nd. I'm also expecting the atmosphere to be really flat too.

I've seen opponents win trophies, or avoid relegation, or be relegated, in front of my eyes. But I can't recall seeing an opponent secure promotion against us before? But that might just be me forgetting.

(I know that Ipswich can't mathematically go up tonight - but everyone knows that they're in the PL if they win, and I would expect their fans and players to celebrate as such.)

I don't know if they will be. They might, but they might not.

They know that a draw knocks us out of the picture, and also goes pretty close to knocking Boro out of the picture. But it does practically nothing for them in relation to Millwall - and ultimately they need to hold off all three of us. Just holding off two of us serves no purpose to Ipswich.

The only benefit which a draw brings to Ipswich in relation to Millwall is that it would cover off the final day scenario of Millwall drawing and Ipswich losing. But that scenario is very unlikely. And even if it did happen, it would open the door for Boro to overtake both of them.

As you say, a defeat isn't a disaster for Ipswich tonight. They have two shots at getting one win. But two draws is a potential disaster. So I think they will be aiming for a win almost as much as us. For us, it's because only a win will do (followed by a small final day miracle). For them, it's because they need one win, not two draws.

Yeah I also think the crowd will be pretty flat tonight too.
