People talk about only staying up last year on goal difference as a reason to have low expectations for this season. We finished last season with 4 wins, 4 draws and 4 defeats from the last twelve games. This season in our last 12 with one of them still to play we've had 2 wins, 4 draws and 5 defeats so far. So our run-in has been worse than last year's even if we unexpectedly beat Norwich, and surely nobody is going to argue that last year's squad was stronger. And supposedly it was the run-in that got Selles sacked. I think this demonstrates that it was always bollocks to judge our chances this season based on our league position last season, and also that we've absolutely bottled the run-in this year.

Thats very damning and actually shocking.
Selles was massively criticised for our final run in too

I don’t want it to happen but Acun 100% sacks him if we finish outside the top six. The thing is, it won’t even come as a shock compared to Rosenior or Sellés. Acun will be incredulous if we miss out after being in the top six for four months and I don’t blame him. Unfortunately, he’ll make a decision based on that and we’re back to square one.

I won’t be getting up to watch tomorrow, but I still think Coventry win by at least 3, am I clutching at straws? Maybe a little, but I really think Coventry will want to finish their home games on a high!

I ****ing hate the overachieving talk. So small time it's embarrassing. Like you say Wrexham have some nobodies. Millwall have a team of nobodies and are going to finish top 3. Coventry's team on paper isn't even that crazy compared to the parachute sides. But we talk as if everyone but us has a star studded line up and we can't possibly compete.

We've got McBurnie, Gelhardt, Belloumi and Millar all been fit and starting for a while now. A brilliant front line, not sure we've had a better one at this level in the modern era. Do people honestly think our rivals have got better to pick from? Lundstram another previous promotion winner and PL performer on big money. At the back we've got Egan and Ajayi supposedly proven at this level as previous promotion winners, and then Hughes supposedly a £15m player. These aren't nobodies. And none of them are that old. Again, I wonder who do people who talk about us being limited think plays for our rivals?
So many are buying into it. I got into a twitter spat yesterday on it but it's enbarrassing to try to hide behind the embargo as if we haven't spent a huge amount of money on this squad.

Yep. A new manager and coaching staff, the usual massive turnover of players, some random signing from Turkey who will last half a season before being shipped out to Westerlo...and repeat.

On paper Coventry win but on paper so should we have Today...

It wouldn't shock me if Wrexham won and if they do we're more or less ****ed!!!

I'm not sure how the owner reacts to this if we don't make a play off spot but somehow I can't see him rejoicing in the fact that we were firmly cemented into the play offs and have dropped off tamely. The wage bill will no doubt have him up in arms and I'm not sure he's got the resolve or the funding to continue pumping money in for us to be also rans.

We move on to tomorrow's game and hope that Coventry want a victory and a celebratory atmosphere at the end of 90 minutes...

What do you mean? At the end?
Ajayi after conceding and then Coyle/Lundstrum throughout the second half.

Coyle was especially poor today. Wasteful cross after wasteful cross.

The comments under the club’s Facebook and Instagram single him out to (apart from one post blaming Pandur).

Our run in has been worse than selles
Seriously

We got more points in selles last 12 than we have in our last 12.

Its been an absolute total collapse
And as manager
The sword falls to him

I doubt he will be here
Ha ha. It wouldn't have been done any other way with City. It has been an impressive bottle job considering the position in early february. In the running for the top five bottle of recent-ish years, Serg's bottle job is up there with :

1) Rosenior's 7th place
2) Bruce's PL relegation after holidaying in Barbados, having declared to Assam that City were safe
3) Rik Glasgow offering out Cheshire Ben, then backtracking and stating that he had to make his own way up to Scotland to complete the challenge.
4) Me leaving the forum and vowing not to return in a pique of childish anger after making a **** of myself
5) That 4 metres tall wine bottle made in Switzerland around a decade ago

Coventry aren’t going to throw their last home game when they’re lifting the trophy. And then, whilst Boro have secured their play off place, they’d must rather be 3rd/4th than 5th.

No memories of (3), must've been a different 'Rik'... <laugh>
