Grabbing 3 nights away in June on the Northumberland coast.
Anybody got any hot tips as we've not booked anywhere....prefer to be next to the sea as opposed to the likes of Alnwick....cheers lads.
Bamburgh is lovely but I like Beadnell myself, leaving it late to get some where though.
Try Sykes cottages they have the most up there but beadnell has two nice hotels I seem to remember.

Low Newton by the Sea is beautiful, even better if you can rent one of the cottages by the pub. As is Boulmer village, The Fishing Boat Inn does great food and accommodation, although I think it's pretty expensive to stay there

I've stayed here before.

Lovely and peaceful site, just outside of Seahouses. They have various types of accommodation.

We stayed in a standard WigWam. It was clean and comfortable and we slept well. The communal kitchen and toilet/shower facilities were all clean and tidy. They were exclusively for use by the WigWam guests so not overused.

I didn't want to post this in the "its ok not to be ok" thread as I didn't want to derail a great thread.

But, one of the ways I take my mind off things is to do scale models. I realised a few years ago it was one of my coping mechanisms...If I was down I would do one, I could go into my own little world for a few hours on a night...it just "helped". I would maybe do one every couple of months....I would know when I need to do one, or maybe two. At most, I may do four, possibly five, in a year. It sounds odd, but I would just "know" when I needed to do one.

These are what ive done since the end of January. There's 9 there, there should be 10 but I binned one, as it was crap.
Theres x4, 1/24 scale, cars, a 1/9 scale and x2 1/12 scale bikes, a rider, and a 1/350 scale battleship.
I'll be starting another one tomorrow!!

Had to read that twice mate.
I thought you’d wrote de scale models, I was imagining you slowly stripping them down to individual parts again.
I had two thoughts,
1, that’s one hell of a task and
2 I might be able to get some cheap models here <laugh>

Cumbrian, when you do come to this area I recommend you have lunch in one of the Running Fox restaurants, there are 5 in Northumberland. The food is locally sourced with the provenance shown on the menu.
The food is incredible with generous portions. We have never finished a meal yet and always get what’s left boxed up and have it for our evening meal

Thanks for all the responses lads.
E Mailed the Fishingboat Inn....no response so rang them yesterday was promised a call back when they were less busy and again no response so they're not getting my money.
After some thought we plumped for York instead, hotel and trains all sorted so thanks again for all the ideas.Much appreciated.

You're probably aware of this place but, if not, I've always found it a lovely place for breakfast, etc ...

... the food, service, etc, are usually excellent and the uniforms somehow seem to make the plainest waitress look sexy <whistle>
