Haway rate the signings on their impact on the side and results this year.

Hit, pass or fail.

Whilst a number of them are young and may go on to improve, just looking factually at their impact this season.

Roefs - HIT - Better distribution than Patto and solid shot stopper, considering fee an improvement.

Reinildo - HIT - Solid, quick, proper defender, has that Atletico horseplay but on a free has to be a hit.

Masuaka - Fail - No Impact

Geertruida - Fail - Good player on a loan, can't get in the side so not a hit either because of him or the coach. Has competition at RB and CM that seem undroppable. Reliable when called on.

Traore - HIT - Best RW when fit, for the coin a hit.

Alderete - HIT - Starts every game, solid, liable to casualness but for the fee good pound for pound impact.

Mukiele - HIT - Top player for the fee

Xhaka - HIT - Top player for the fee

Sadiki - HIT - Bags of potential, reliable, athletic, eats up grass, big miss during AFCON

Talbi - Fail -Can't get in the side despite all LM competition being injured.

Adingra - Fail - 20 bags, sold in Jan

Brobbey - Pass- Overall return systematic of our combined lack of creativity than his own failings. Most of his goals are massive self efforts, with more support has class attributes to work with.

Diarra - Fail - For the fee, not enough impact, through both injury and AFCON. Not seeing it atm.

Elborg - Not enough data

Ta bi - Not Enough Data

Angulo - Not enough data

Overall the vast majority have had massive impact and pound for pound been great.

One stand out in relation to fee is Diarra but im putting that down to the massive lay off, gets another pre season and the chance to go again.

If we have a similar summer it's all very bright.

my issue with diarra is it keeps our best creator out left. Just say we sign two quality wingers for each side, does RLB persist with diarra in the middle? Agree with the rest of them but talbi, don’t understand why he’s always in and out

Agree with a lot of things the OP says.

However, Geertruida has done very well when called upon, especially during AFCON, when we needed him most. Talbi has a number of assists and goals and is going to be some player in the near future. Definitely both a hit for me.

Understand why you've marked Diarra down, but with a good pre-season, I think we'll see a different player next season.

Brobbey has definitely been a hit, as he is exactly what we need in the system we play. Our lack of creativity has meant he hasn't scored as many goals as he would like, but I expect that to change next season, with better wide men and a like for like that we can rotate more to give the extremely hard working Brobbey a breather.

Only one the OP calls a hit that I disagree with is Traore. It takes more than 5 good games to contribute to a teams season. He started slowly and hasn't played since the Mags at home in December. Fail for me.

He must have decided to take another offer rather than us not wanting him, at a guess. Might explain why he's overlooked despite being very good.
Agreed, I think its a case of "these want me to sit on their bench, which is better financially and status wise", so we have probably said "stay here we want and need you for now" but we are only using him when desperate. Don't wanna develop someone else's talent now we are safe.

He comes in vs Wolves for me.
