Is it only our players who aren't motivated because promotion would see them all replaced ?

If that's an issue for us then surely it must be for all our rivals ?
Not sure but I'd guess we've got more loan players than most.

Which loan players have been playing and not on pl money? Are you suggesting amir has cost us? Or Hirakawa?

Lundstram is the only one of our six loanees who would qualify for this silly perspective

Jakirovic might be in the dugout for Saturday game but then could miss the Norwich game

I'm not sure the reasons why we've had such a downturn. I very much doubt it's anything to do with players' existentialism - worrying about their future if getting promoted. Probably a combination of things that have snowballed with results being poor.

On Saturday, a win against a team who also need points could turn us around mentally and not only help us qualify for the play offs, but have some fight in the play offs.

Will we do that?

Sorry, I can't see us beating Charlton at all.

Charlton are ****ing ****e but we just don't seem to be able to get games over the line; that second goal now feels like a holy grail and you're just waiting for their equaliser, whether it's some class strike or the referee giving them a pen. Feels inevitable, inescapable and naturally depressing.

At the moment, I fear the players dwell upon that last sentence too.

We went into this season pretty much written off before a ball was kicked.

The players started the season thinking they had nothing to lose, gelled quite quickly and started putting a decent run together.

Once we got into the top six, the mood changed a bit and the players got more edgy about staying there and started making more mistakes and taking less risks. I don't really think it's any more complicated than that.

Like most folk I haven't the first idea what the players earn or what they might have been promised. I've no idea what you're on about! I'm simply suggesting that loan players might not be motivated by promotion to PL if they're going to be sent back whence they came at season end.

It's only us that would need to replace them if we go up because everyone else has a brilliant squad, with quality and depth that the likes of little old us could only dream of.

I don't think you'll find yourself all alone on that thought. They'll be going all out irrespective of what Oxford might do v Sheff Wed at 3pm. They just need a point to stay up which I reckon they'll secure it against us. Another all to depressing draw, probably after we go ahead and are coasting until the wheels inevitably come off around 60 minutes.

In addition to that, earlier in the season teams will have been approaching us determined to enforce their style of play and we were catching them out. Once we slipped out from under the radar the opposition started looking for ways to nullify our play instead, and having seen us all season they know our weaknesses.

I do think we've run out of steam, but also we've faced a lot of teams where they are underdogs and it's given them the edge.

Also, typical City.
