Gotta massively fancy your chances of a final now. They’re ****eHere's hoping it will be 6
'Best squad in the championship'
When the team needed a passionate fanbase the most…….Just glad it's done and dusted... hoping this will be a catalyst like the last time we were there - and certainly gives us the opportunity to get rid of some overpaid mercenaries ...
Can't argue that we've got what we deserved - sold some of the better players at the start of the season, didn't replace them and never addressed the obvious lack of a proper striker(s) ... and Gary Rowett has been absolutely abysmal - adamant that 'experience' was key when, quite obviously, it wasn't ... fans have voted with their feet, quite understandably...
Genuine question Fosse, you say opportunity to get rid of overpaid mercenaries but from what’s been reported, Leicester have dished out very lucrative contracts with no relegation clauses. With reported salaries of players such as Winks on £90k a week, how easy is it to get rid of these players as they’ve not really put themselves in the shop window, either in footballing ability or realistic salaries this season. On the other hand, I’ve seen a few articles with youngsters such as Monga and James (when his loan ends) being “eyed up” by PL clubs. IMO, I still think Leicester haven’t quite reached rock bottom yet.Just glad it's done and dusted... hoping this will be a catalyst like the last time we were there - and certainly gives us the opportunity to get rid of some overpaid mercenaries ...

Yep, I don’t think Leicester are at rock bottom yet.Reckon there's a very high chance they'll go into administration at some point next season.
Will be a struggle to get fees for the players they want to offfload if they are on good money.Genuine question Fosse, you say opportunity to get rid of overpaid mercenaries but from what’s been reported, Leicester have dished out very lucrative contracts with no relegation clauses. Again it could be BS, but I saw a salary table for the top earners in the Championship and Leicester had something like 7 of the top 10 positions covered. From memory, the lowest player in that table was on something like £25k a week and Winks was the highest at a reported £90k. League 1 football and the crowds they will likely get, ain’t going to support salaries like this and that’s without the other costs like the running the training ground, which again could be BS, but reported at £40m a year. Will be a struggle to get fees for the players they want to offfload if they are on good money.
Of winks is on £90k a week his agent earns every penny of his commission.
The only player I would take is James and he’s on loan to Leicester! It doesn’t get any easier than if they were trying to get rid of them in this league. Could argue the players have more of an upper hand in any negotiation than they did before. A weaker hand in negotiations for selling the players that are worth something and there’s a few of them worth a lot still even after this ****fest.
Realistically you loan out Winks, Skipp etc. and subsidise the wage assuming a club out there fancies that. Get what you can for James, Fatawu, Mavdidi. Probably end up still with a few they don’t want but are stuck with.
Or, unlikely, the L1 financial rules are a bit flimsier. Could gamble on promotion by retaining the better players that are up for it - assuming they exist. Unlikely but possible.
In summary, it’s ****ed.
Oh didn’t even know that. Teams will want Fatawu. 22, loads of potential. Probably not as good as some Lesta fans once would have had you believe but still a very good player. Mavdidi at least gets an offer from somewhere. The only player I would take is James and he’s on loan to Leicester!

Looking at the team out yesterday it’s worse than I thought. Defence and goalkeeper all either old, **** or both. They hate Thomas who is the only one under 30.
I reckon the owners could be looking for a way out, now. They've also already borrowed against future parachute payments and transfer installments.
So in other words, they're ****ed.
