100% agree with this. Suarez doesn't suprise me as the guy is an animal and a cheat of the highest order. The stance of 'King' kenny and the Liverpool heirarcy does though. I thought Liverpool as a club were better than this.
Does that mean there's some bod in a suit checking round the rest of the squads bedrooms to try and issue him a subpoena.
The only way what he said is racist is if he put an expletive before it,coz for the life of me i can't think of any slang for negro in spanish. So he must have used puta/hijo de puta .eg. at some stage. The only other word which can be used is mono, which i have heard a few times in a racist way.
Probably not that different in truth but... I've nothing against Kenny supporting Suarez pre verdict but now he has been found guilty I would expect something more than that statement they put out which seemed to blame everyone except the guilty party. Some of the comments about Evra in particular. As for Terry generally, lets wait and see what happens. Innocent until proven guilty (unless you are Liverpool when it is innocent even when proven guilty).
A Liverpool statement said: "We find it extraordinary that Luis can be found guilty on the word of Patrice Evra alone. "No one else on the field of play - including Evra's own Manchester United team-mates and all the match officials - heard the alleged conversation between the two players in a crowded Kop goalmouth. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'm not sure if I've posted this here or over there now, but hey! What i find extraordinary about this statement is do they expect a Pool corner at the Kop end v United to be a nice quiet place to listen to conversations, thats right a quiet conversation between 2 people, i.e. not yelling at the top of their voice. Would it be too much of a stretch of the imagination, that the players around them were actually concentrating on defending/attacking the corner?
I'm wondering if JT will be treated more harshly, given that the evidence surrounding his racist assault is far more conclusive than the case against Suarez? Could be be looking at a three month ban, I wonder?
I think the FA would say that the evidence against Suarez was completely convincing, otherwise they wouldn't have convicted. You cannot be more than 100% sure.
You're right, HD. But I still think the FA should hand down a 3 month ban to JT. If only for the sheer hell of it.
We will just have to wait and see but maybe it is relevant that Evra complained where as Anton clearly didn't hear anything at the time. Also Terry hasn't admitted to using racist language so how is the evidence more conclusive? Them U tube clips are far from conclusive. Seems Suarez landed himself in the ****.
These are two separate things. The FA can make a ruling without having to wait for criminal charges to be heard. The standard of proof at a criminal trial is far higher than that needed for the FA's own internal tribunal. Consider the OJ Simpson killings, for example. The jury found him "not guilty" of murder (the standard being "beyond reasonable doubt"), whereas a civil judge found that, on the balance of probabilities, he was responsible for the deaths of his wife and her lover.
