Belloumi getting a lot of nods on the MotM thread.
Both he and Millar were lively. Again.
BUT, if we're going to continue playing with 2 proper wingers, there surely has to be much more end product from them, be that goals, assists, decent crosses. Week after week there isn't and we're wasting so many promising positions. Frustrating.
Belloumi scored two games ago and Millar set up McBurnie against Sheff Utd. They're not the problem for me. It's the missing midfield which is far the bigger issue. Even in build up, we have no choice but to go wide to be effective.

Can see us scoring first and they equalise via a Fatawu worldie. Will finish 1-1 or we’ll lose 2-1. They’ll still go down but not before landing a venomous strike on us like a dying viper.
And then we say you can't do anything about that goal, Leicester have got some good players you know, and teams aren't going to just lie down for us. Anyway what a season it's been, fancy little old Hull being as high as 8th!!

It’s caused more in-fighting on social media.

“In the middle of two important games fighting for play offs”
Vs
“He’s allowed a drink after work”
maybe controversial to some ... but .... not only the football side of things, wouldn't you think that at 30 y.o. with a partner with a toddler you'd be back home not out late in town strutting your stuff? He can of course do what he wants, but seems like poor choices all round in my humble opinion.

I can’t remember who said it on here that some of the players probably don’t want promotion or at the very least aren’t that bothered about promotion because it would mean they’ll either get sidelined or sold. When the club captain is out on the piss after a **** result and pathetic team/individual performance and we have another crucial game that we must win in a couple of days, it tells me everything I need to know about the mentality, professionalism and standards of some of the players.

I can’t believe the club gave him a new three-year contract.
It was nonsense when Jim said it and it's nonsense now. Of course the players want a promotion. It gives them a higher wage, a promotion bonus, an achievement on their cv, and they're all in football to win things. If anyone seriously thinks they're not trying because there's a chance they won't be best XI next year they're mad. Are Wrexhams players not trying?

We can't even match Portsmouth's results at the moment, pal.

We couldn't have a worse fixture on Tuesday, to be honest. Leicester are fully aware of how humiliating relegation is, they're going to come out swinging with the crowd behind them. As much as I dislike their fans, they are nothing if not resilient and that season they survived at our expense I was convinced they were dead and buried and we'd be alright.

All these teams are striving to succeed, while our mentality seems to be trying desperately not to fail. We could do with a visit from some of the former promotion winners getting the lads going, get them watching the videos of our success, show them what it means to the city.

I'm proud of the lads this season, for sure, but the way we've tailed off is a massive concern because it isn't just a slight bit of misfortune, we're a completely different team to how we were before the January Transfer window shut. I'm inclined to agree it's the old midfield problem, but it now seems as though our defence is also lacking confidence and we are more concerned with playing it safe than we are playing it forward. Kinda like they're not bothered about winning as long as they don't lose. The mentality at the moment reflects that, it's almost as if the lads have taken into account the hardships we've faced this season and have decided that wherever we finish now represents a huge success. Not being relegated is the expectation, but it doesn't say much that with a golden opportunity to extend our season we seem to just be shuffling off with our hands in our pockets.
Leicester players don't give a ****. They gave up weeks ago. Winks fighting with fans after that loss to Portsmouth says it all.

I agree that the 'missing midfield' is a real problem.
However, I think it's all linked.
By choosing to play with 2 proper wingers in means we're weaker in other parts of the field ... like midfield. I'm not saying that's the sole reason, it clearly isn't; as I posted at the start of yesterday's game, we seriously lack pace and mobility in midfield (as well as elsewhere bar out wide)
And I'd say if we're going with 2 proper wingers then we need more output than you mention, otherwise the trade off isn't worth it.

Leicester have to win, so will need to come out and attack us. That is a positive for us.

However we’ve got to learn how to score more than one and also defend.

It’s cute you think that game will be an easy three points.
Er OK? I'm suggesting Leicester players aren't going to randomly start trying against us when they haven't cared for weeks. I'm not saying we'll win, because Jak has killed any confidence in this side. I never once said it was an easy three points but I see you're in one of your moods.

??
Slater isn't back!
Might be for play offs if we make it that far.
Exclamation mark, so you must be right!! Alternatively, from the HDM:
"Regan Slater could also return next weekend at Charlton Athletic as he battles back from an ankle injury, though he might yet return at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday night."

We have recent history of losing to relegated clubs (LCFC are down even if they win all 3) Under Bruce, we lost turn up to win games at an already well perished Wolves and Bolton. Who can forget the majesty of that Sunderland home game which shattered our PL survival? Apart from Sheff Wed – who are relatively speaking the worst side I’ve ever seen – I can’t recall us winning these types of games.

Anything is possible of Tuesday – but given how we’ve performed of late, versus what LCFC need multiplied by ‘typical City’ – logically - I don’t think we’ll win.

They’ve got some great players still. They’ll score, their fans will temporally get back on side and take the piss. Seen it loads of times with this Club.

It's always frustrating dropping points at this stage of the season but what a great position to be in with 3 games left and the easiest run in on paper. Of course, it doesn't mean anything is nailed on but if the bookies have you at 1/4 to be in the top 6 things are looking good - famous last words.
Seem to remember our easy run in included Oxford, Sheff Utd and Birmingham.

It was me. And I stand by it. There is no guaranteed promotion money for every player, some with smarter agents will have them and anyone signing in January would have included one but even so 90% of that team know they will he uprooting their family. The type of deals Tan was doing would certainly be looking favour him and the agent as opposed to the player and the club.....allegedly.

There is a promotion bonus for every player. We're not doing this ridiculous song and dance again.

Eh, hang on.
An exclamation mark doesn't mean "so you must be right". It means things like surprise, excitement, added emphasis, etc.
Do you think your's means you are doubly right or something?
And yes, I read after posting, that Baz had apparently said he wouldn't be surprised to see him involved this week. If he is involved, let's hope he is actually match fit and it's not just desperation!!!

'Smarter agents', even a daft git like myself would insist on it. :emoticon-0138-think

The views in this post are 3-10%* recycled.

* A figure not unlike agents fees, including promotion bonus cash they would be barmy to forego.

It would be the most typical City thing ever for us to not beat Leicester, they get relegated anyway and City finish 7th or 8th.

Even if we did finish 6th, we’d just get beat 6-0 on aggregate like Bristol City did last year.
