Goalkeeper and Right Back are the obvious priorities regardless of what league we're in.
Against Blackburn, Peretz was playing as a sweeper, in the Bayern Munich mould. At one point, he was inside the centre circle, which is either supremely confident, of rather dangerous, depending on your viewpoint. Anyway, maybe we can kill two birds, etc, by employing a goalkeeper (Peretz himself?), who takes on several other defensive duties, as well as stopping shots, catching crosses, or similar

What I love about Peretz (well one of the things I love) is that when we have a corner he is in the centre circle organising players positions. It makes sense too.

Many years ago I remember hearing a keeper talk about why does the ball always get passed back to him. He says that the goal keeper is the only player on the pitch that can see the whole picture of positions ahead of him.

But does he take the training bibs home to wash?

Roerslev's recovery is highly relevant at the back. He's played over 100 times in the Premier League for a pretty good team and is over 6 foot tall so should be an option at RB. Obviously Ross Stewart is a good example of what can happen after an achilles injury so that's a concern.

It seems like Stewart’s was more severe. I think he has a full rupture. Roerslev apparently had persistent issues that eventually required surgery

Still a horrible injury. I have tendinopathy in both Achilles which is more mild than what Roerslev has and am finding it difficult to get up to level well below what they need to be. If you try and move too quickly to things like sprints and jumping then things get re aggravated. Not to mention the compensations you do. Which I would expect is what resulted in Stewart’s hamstring problems

Yeah it's clear THB can't play RB but I didn't raise it as a major concern as I assume Roerslev will return from injury at some point in the next couple on months (ie before august)

Still worried we might offer Baz a new contract.
I was an advocate for him over McCarthy as best of the what we had but if we need a back up keeper I think we can do better, especially when we are in the prem next season

It’s weird. He was getting rave reviews last year and it’s like a switch went off in the summer and he just turned into useless. His effort on the field when he was here appeared basically non existent. All very strange. Don’t want to speculate but maybe something has happened off the field that has affected him

Is he still in the running for the septic's world cup squad?

Shame really, nothing against him, it's not his fault we signed him and for quite a lot of money. It would have been good for us if he did well there so it would be easier to get rid in the summer.

Like Magic said, he did himself no favours here with his lack of effort.

I don't really buy the no effort thing. I just think he has that laid back style that looks like they don't give a ****, and then when he lost all confidence after a few really poor misses, that just made it all look worse. When you are playing poorly as a team (which we were when he was playing), the one thing you want from your players is them to be visibly busting a gut to get things going in the right direction again. So his laid back style just looked even worse. That's the way I saw things with Downes anyway. I'm sure many will disagree. Ultimately he's just no way near good enough and as I say, it's annoying the loan move hasn't worked either as we'll struggle to find a buyer in the summer without making a big loss.

I agree to a certain extent but someone like Aribo I would say has that “laid back style” but I never thought he wasn’t trying. Different positions as a midfielder will be involved more so maybe you’re right, but Downs genuinely looked liked he wasn’t trying at all to me

It is quite funny reading some of these comments. Upgrade on Stephens who has been excellent this year. I agree that Peretz needs to be signed.

I think player of the season will be interesting as the sexy vote is for Scienza. In my opinion, I would vote for Manning.

Nah. Scienza has been excellent from day one, even under Still. THB is above Manning for me, but also really just a second half of season performer (along with Downes).

Scienza did have a poor run over Christmas in fairness.

I'd give it Downes personally, he's the one who really makes us tick imo.

Bree and Peretz would have a shout if here all season.
