95% chance of staying up now I think. That was the all-important target.

But odd-on to finish in 21st place now, in my opinion.
Which means we need better players to come in during the Summer, or we will be heading back to League 1 by May 2027.

100% guaranteed that we will have a better squad come August

Without backtracking on what I have said, we could easily lose the next two games.

Oxford are at home to Ivor's mob on Tuesday and are at home to Wednesday next weekend. Let's hope the taffs avoid defeat.

Charlton finishing the season with 50 points is now a likelihood in my view.
And I believe that will mean 21st place.

That is assuming West Brom are not deducted a chunk of points.
I think the Baggies and Blackburn are likely to overtake us. Their form is appreciably better.

It doesn't really matter, in that 21st place still keeps us up - as would 18th or 19th or 20th.
But fans like to see a good performance and 3 points every now and then.
We could be looking at a winless run of 9 games to see out this season. Not a good look for selling ST's.

Yep. Too many defeats at home will put off a lot of occasional punters. People won't part with hundreds for a ST (or £35 for a walk-up ticket) if we are regularly losing, especially coupled with an absolutely honking display like we have witnessed all too often this season. Fact is, we are poor value for money.

I can stomach a defeat, so long as we gave it our all. But too many times we have wilted and waned against pretty average opposition.

Regardless of my downbeat offerings, I really do appreciate and respect your optimism.
I just think back to just over two years ago and where we were then, compared to where we are now. I wish the football could be better quality but we’re doing alright all things considered, especially the relative budgets of teams in this league :emoticon-0148-yes:

I think this is such a strong point. I think the football, all season, hasn't been great, but we've almost done enough to secure Championship football next season, which is amazing to think compared too how bad it was 2 years ago.

We need a really strong window over the summer, otherwise its another difficult season awaits us next season. Although, you look at Portsmouth and Oxford, both in their second season in the Championship, are both really struggling. Should we really expect much more than that?

Are we already expecting too much for next season? Just because of our history in the late 90's and 00's, we don't have a divine right to be in the Championship. We've had years of terrible ownership and under investment in the whole club. We aren't currently in a place to be a constant mid table Championship team, it will take time, hard work and investment.

I think the investment has come from the owners. Do I want them to spend more, yes, is it my money, no. The owners aren't "fans" as we are, but want us to succeed. My opinion is the vision is positive. Im not telling people what to do/feel, but as fan base we need to give the team time.

I can't really think of a good way to end my slightly drunken post, but, while this season my not be ending they way we hoped, we've progressed so much in 2 seasons, there is plenty to be pleased about.
