I'm a believer in that certain managers suit certain clubs/types of club/situations. Take them out of that and put them somewhere else and they struggle. Thomas Frank had a great reputation for what he did at Brentford but struggled at Spurs, Potter was well regarded in Sweden, did well at Swansea and really well at Brighton but then failed at Chelsea and West Ham. There are other examples as well. Iraola might suit Bournemouth or a similar set up somewhere else, but it doesn't mean he'll suit the mags because of the set up, expectations and demands there. If the rumours starting now are right, Howe doesn't get along with the CEO who's supposed to be involving himself in team and transfer matters. Would Iraola be happy having to accept a CEO over ruling him on transfers or contracts? Iraola could wind up there, find it's not a good fit and struggle and end up just thought of as a mediocre coach. Football is full of bright young coaches who ended up being considered journeymen.
Cracking post mate.

I cant see Jose going there, he will want to be at club playing in Europe or title contenders.

but looking at their board this morning,
one doesnt feel that they are safe yet.

and talking to a mag I walk to work with sometimes, they would rather keep Howe, give him the summer and a "Decent" window and see how things go,
give him until December and if things arent improving then give him the sack,

said about this rumour, and his response " I bloody hope not, that will be me done. we are becoming a laughinh stock and believe we are in a relegation battle next season, and you lot will win something"

When he's speaking RLB very often talks about "identity and the players, fans, everyone at the club being well connected, people believing in the project". Imo,this is what the Mags don't have.....they seem to be disconnected, with no identity they can be proud of,all those with influence pulling in different directions.....long may it continue!

I think this also

I watched MOTD and thought Newcastle were very poor, below average and no real team spirit.

They really need a good keeper, neither are good enough. Livramento made a huge error in the derby and missed an easy header for the first Palace goal, a poor defender tbh. The strikers aren't great and the midfield looks half-hearted to me. But there's something deeper going on there and Joelinton summed it up in my opinion. He knew he was one yellow card away from suspension so had to be careful ...

... so he absolutely hauls Mateta down, in the Palace half, right in front of the referee who has to book him.

There's half a dozen games to go, Newcastle are winning nothing and Joelinton in already on the beach ... shameful.

Identity = richerst clurb in tha wurld!

:emoticon-0102-bigsm Means absolutely nothing if you're not winning anything.....which they aren't.

It’s like carrying a dead weight and just gives people an easy target. When clubs like Brighton, Brentford and Bournemouth have no respect you know it’s because of the money.

The Mags always want to be loved …

… no one even likes them now and they know it.

They thought it wouldn’t matter because all the trophies would make up for it, hilarious.

You'd think their fans would wake up and accept reality.....but they don't. The media continue to fuel this fantasy about them being a big club with the most intimidating ground in the country, with an entitlement to success and their world famous number 9.
Once again, another season proving to be beyond mediocre. If they were anywhere near intelligent it'd start to dawn on them......but...,hey! :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Replacing the ex-Bournemouth manager with the current Bournemouth manager? Radical new direction indeed.
He's a huge upgrade on Howe mind. A clever, adaptable coach. Not sure he could do much with that squad mind, though it might be a sign of the times that he doesn't mind his players being sold and he can work on a tight budget
