First half Sat we looked done in! I’d be going for a few changes & 4-3-3 for this one, Azaz desperately needs a break imo:
Peretz,
Bree, THB, Stephens, Welly
Bragg,
Charles, Downes
Fellows, Larin, Edozie

More than enough to come off the bench if we need it 2nd half, but just feel we’re gonna need lot of our starters to have more energy for other games coming up

One game at a time. Win tomorrow and we go 4th. That midfield is too negative for me for playing Blackburn at home.

You've got to take into account our mental schedule too though otherwise you'll burn out some players and/or greatly increase their injury risk. Not to mention it being impossible to maintain energy levels otherwise.

Resting Azaz is fine. But I'd shift Matsuki into the middle and keep Fellows in the team.

I am interested to see how Matsuki does in the middle now too. But the fact that we have played Charles there a few times now over Matsuki makes me think that is the more likely change if Azaz does need to sit this one out.

This was my thoughts & with how many important goals Shea has scored recently, I’m not against him as a slightly more forward thinking player at all. He’s clearly got a lot of passing ability, so why not try him pulling the strings at 10?

If we don't want to try Matsuki centrally, then I would still support playing two strikers by starting Archer alongside Larin or Stewart.

Obviously I would much prefer to stick with Azaz. But keeping him fresh will be important. Leaving him out against Bristol City and Preston would probably be the two games I'd currently look at - subject to doing the business against Blackburn and Swansea first (and assuming that Ipswich don't mess up badly enough to open the door for us).

Only thing for me is if you don’t give Azaz a break soon then the chance of an injury only increases. He looks knackered & needs a rest tomos imo

Probably doesn't matter as it was when Still was here but I've just noticed that we didn't get a win against any of the teams we've got left in the first game.

If we miss out on the autos by a couple of points some of those Still games are going to really sting. The Swansea home game especially

Not to bat for Still but we had some pretty ****e results over the Xmas period with Tonda too. It's a combination of it all

Yeah but I feel the Still ones were more annoying as we dominated games but couldn’t find the win.

I remember watching a lot of the YouTube pundits reactions to Still getting sacked and they were pretty unanimous in saying they thought he was really unfortunate as the stats had us battering teams but not scoring.

So they felt that it was a matter of time before it clicked under him as we couldn’t continue being as poor in front of goal.

Obviously we watch the games and know that the issue with Still was the five at the back and the slowness of the build up. All these chances would come in a 10/15 min spell where we upped it for some reason, but the rest of the game would just pass by with **** all happening. Then we’d **** it up and gift the oppo a chance and lose the game.

At the moment my concern is around potential injury issues rather than ‘burn-out’. This squad is so together that there is a ‘all for one, one for all’ attitude like I’ve not noticed for a long, long time. Must be the Tonda effect.

These here matchdays sure do come around quickly!

If we can manage a win today it would pretty much cement our play off place and continues the dream of an end of season miracle. But Blackburn won't roll over and don't concede many. Can see this one being very attritional, particularly if we can't get an early goal. And we don't want to gift them anything stupid like we did with Derby. COYR
