I know the games gone but to look at another instance of the poor officiating, on the second goal, the push on Fisher at the first header - you see them given all the time, it’s too hands in the back.
Grant Holt was physical but he bullied and battered you within the constraints of the game, not multiple cynical late fouls going unpunished.Small payback for the Grunt Hulk days,he wasn't above a bit of s**thousery!
He did nothing but show that fans and comments had got in his head. Even after being told to calm down by his manager he couldn’t control himself. He had done his job in 20 mins so was happy to come off. Your players fell for it hook line and stinker.
For a big guy he fell over a lot too!Grant Holt was physical but he bullied and battered you within the constraints of the game, not multiple cynical late fouls going unpunished.
He changed the narrative of the game, your players and fans turned attention onto him rather than continuing to push us, like it or not he came on to disrupt you and he did, he was smiling most of the time so i don't think it was in his head too much.He did nothing but show that fans and comments had got in his head. Obviously he gets the last laugh because his team won but he was lucky to have such a forgiving referee
Yup secured the victory for us, changed your focus.Coming on for 20 minutes to kick people & not get sent off , doing his job ?
Lol
Yeah absolutely he bought fouls to be fair, difference is there was actual contact on himFor a big guy he fell over a lot too!
so your okay with cheating?Yeah absolutely he bought fouls to be fair, difference is there was actual contact on him
I don’t believe he changed the narrative, he had the fans attention of course but he didn’t shift the players focus other than when he was throwing late challenges in on our players - not what your manager wanted from him. We continued to push but were so blunt going forwards/you defended well that it didn’t make a difference. He changed the narrative of the game, your players and fans turned attention onto him rather than continuing to push us, like it or not he came on to disrupt you and he did, he was smiling most of the time so i don't think it was in his head too much.
You should ask why he dislikes you so much maybe the club is not a very welcoming place.
There’s a difference between inviting a foul and divingso your okay with cheating?
I believe he did exactly what was required of him maybe a with a tad too much gusto but successful all the same.I don’t believe he changed the narrative, he had the fans attention of course but he didn’t shift the players focus other than when he was throwing late challenges in on our players - not what your manager wanted from him. We loved him when he was here but sadly, as is an indictment of the game, he’s a mercenary he didn’t care about our club just as he doesn’t care about yours. It’s all just theatrics. He punched our badge just as he punched yours, it ultimately means nothing to him. I’d have liked him to show a bit more respect and class to a club that brought him over to England but that’s something he clearly lacks.
Let's face it he didn't have to do a lot, the opposition players were giving him verbal and their fans were singing that they were going to have big party when he dies, class vacuum. But no matter who did or said what really doesn't matter because Walton could have brought a deckchair with him he had so little to do and the Budgies could still be playing now and not scored.I believe he did exactly what was required of him maybe a with a tad too much gusto but successful all the same.
Every player is a mercenary and are in it for themselves, the 'class' works both ways maybe the fans should have showed a little when he wanted to move onto 'in his view' bigger and better things.
Yeah though watching Farke this evening celebrating a result which probably keeps them up, along with their sensational cup run, does make you think it could still be worth itA season of Ipswich Town nil coming up. I have said this for several years. Rather be in the second tier than desperately hanging on for a point every Game.
We found out last season what happens when a team gets promoted with a team of Lg1 and Championship standard players, there's no lack of effort all give 100% but for the most part class and quality rule the roost as you found out for yourselves, personally I would prefer some time to build a strong squad in the Championship as Sunderland, Brentford, Palace, etc did but nobody is going to turn down the chance of being in the Prem.Thankfully we will not be promoted this season. We are some way from being ready. Ipswich, on the other had, also far from ready in many ways, will go up. I fear they will do worse than last time (of course I don't fear, I rejoice in their upcoming humiliation).
You could see McKenna speak to him before him pulled him off, he was fine with him and even gave a wry smile.Odd take from the Ipswich fans here - I thought bringing him on ended up being close to a disaster. Ipswich lost a bit of shape in midfield and he lost his head, nearly got himself (and should have been) red carded.
Praise for Ipswich goes to their manager for very wisely whipping him off the field in no time and restoring the control/holding us at arm’s length that had been a feature for most of the rest of the game.
So I’m surprised he doesn’t come in for heavy criticism from Binner fans. You can bet your bottom dollar their sensible manager gave him an absolute roasting. He clearly couldn’t cope with the pressure even when his team were 2-0 up and bossing it.
It was a tactical masterclass from the Ipswich manager and I’m surprised they are implicitly criticising him
That’s it I’m sure your over the moon to not be promoted. Some clubs strive others just survive.Thankfully we will not be promoted this season. We are some way from being ready.
