The ref has been awful but so have we - no rhythm, creativity or impact. We gave them a soft penalty and then failed to mark their number 9 which allowed them to manage the game from there. Nunez should have gone off and I hope the ref has to explain that to the league. PC needs to use the rest of the games to help him planning for next season.

Ipswich defended well , but they were gifted the win with a soft pen & a laundry list of other one sided decisions.

One of the most disjointed games I have ever watched. In the first half the ref played as it football was a contact free sport. No tackle went unpunished. I think there were five yellows each at the end and ratty boy most certainly should have been off. We certainly did not deserve anything out of the game.
Probably one of the worst reffing performances I have seen.
We did everything right except in the final third, the Ipswich defence was superb and along with the ref, it just wasn't going to happen today.

P.C suspended next week because his staff jumped up when Nunez got away with a clear second yellow, just to rub salt into the wounds from the worst refereeing performance I've seen in a while.
PC is furious:

But he wins in this situation and so if you don’t have an objective view on these things more players will try to do this. This would never have been given as a penalty under VAR. I know the referee cannot always be in the right position to see everything but this why they need help. In football, too many games are decided by one or two moments. Those decisions need to be right.”

Not just green and yellow glasses looking at the refs performance today, many neutral fans on X were shocked by the refs performance and how much it favoured Ipswich.
And today’s referee did have a history with the club. According to the attached story from the PinkUn last February, He changed his story of his view of the incident against QPR last year in his after match report which resulted in McLean getting a 4 game retrospective ban. On the pitch he said there was minimal contact and took no action but in his report he said he didn’t see the incident.

In the halftime stats we had 20 attempted crosses, only two successful. Stacey is a decent player but plays with his head down, meaning crosses are hit and hope. Bring Kellen back on the right and Chrisene to start on the left.
Have been casting through various fan sites and there is a major story about the penalty. It seems that the fourth official instructed the ref to award it. The ref and linesman were following City's break and suddenly changed defection to go back and point to the spot. Apparently 4th official can tell the on field official things about the game. This sounds exceptionally corrupt to me.
The 4th official? Not even the lineman? How could the 4th official award a penalty from the half way line?
This story apparently originated on a major broadcast station. Why did the on field officials suddenly stop and backtrack to the penalty area?

That was the thing that I didn’t understand, if the lino saw an issue he would have flagged but he didn’t
He had done his job in 20 mins so was happy to come off. Your players fell for it hook line and stinker.

Good highlights here. Shows all of nunez b.s and the play where Kenny was fouled by johnson (8:40) in the box on a corner kick. The ref was looking right at them and waved it off. The ball even caromed off johnson's arm.
