Level at end of session & lost 6 shot lead from overnight, let’s hope he has a better day tomorrow

Such a relief that, having won it last season, Rory will be relaxed and calm, no chance of him choking.

Come on Rosie.

When does Ireland play golf internationally?
Olympic games. McIlroy is a twice Team Ireland Olympian, he plays with his buddy Lowry in Olympics doubles. Golf is an all-island sport just like rugby, cricket, boxing, hockey etc. He learned his trade as a youngster with the Golfing Union of Ireland (GUI). He has never chosen to represent UK/Team GB&NI. He has only represented N.I. or Ireland.

Well that's me told. The thing for me, though, is that GB and Ireland are one team in my world (not a universally popular opinion, I recognise). I will root for Rory as if if he was on my team, even if he considers himself otherwise.

I dont think it's a question of what he considers himself to be. He is a proud Northern Irish man first. He probably considers his nationality is British but............he was brought up representing Ireland at under age and amateur competitions. His parents have one foot in each camp of the N.I. divide. He said he felt he had to choose Ireland when it came to the Olympics as it was Irish golf that developed him as a youngster. One side of the divide was not happy with his choice but it was his to make.

Never got a chance to watch any of it........................... had to work early each day.
Was hoping Jason Day would finally crack it but not to be................... well done, Rory.
