Matt Fitzpatrick looking good in the US Open at Brookline, joint leader with Zalatoris at the moment. He won the US Amateur Championship on this course in 2013. McIlroy's had a tough day, but hanging in there 3 shots back, with others dropping shots too. Could be a good day tomorrow.

I've got Zalatoris and Rahm ! Very difficult conditions and tomorrow meant to be the same but a little cooler. Mcilroy has holed so many ridiculous putts for pars, quite insane. Chances of a play off are pretty good I'd reckon , so closely bunched.

After taking the lead on 17, Rahm's imploded on 18.

I fancy Fitzpatrick to win this.

I've backed Rahm but I don't like him lol, mouthy moany prick in my eyes. I hope Zalatoris wins it as he's a nice bloke and has an incredible game and his short putting is improving with each tournament. If he doesn't then I wouldn't mind Fitzpatrick winning it as an Englishman, but I do feel he's a bit of a choker in majors although he won the US Amateurs at this very course. Both were in the mix at the PGA but Thomas came through to beat Zalatoris in a play off after Fitzpatrick had collapsed on tge final day and Perreira had a Van der Velde moment on the last and cost himself being the biggest price major winner since Immelman won The Masters !

I’m hoping Will Zakatoris will win his first tournament. As mentioned by others, it could well be a playoff.

Footnote- l think it’s a bit rich for the commentators and alike to be bad mouthing the LIV tour players at every opportunity.

Both the PGA and the European Tour already play sanctioned events in Saudi Arabia, so why is it ok for them to take the oil money and not Normans lot.
    Two sets of rules, methinks.

This is epic. Back and forth at the top. All 3 at the top have led now and I thought Zalatoris had come through the bad start to take control. Right back in the melting pot now, Fitzpatrick flukes in an 70 foot birdie ffs. Down to a bit of luck and bottle now. Sick stuff

    How is that a fluke?

Fitzpatrick is meant to win ! Hits an awful drive right and lands in unbelievable place where its trodden down and perfect lie. Hits it to 23 feet and holes the birdie. Zalatoris Hits better drive but trickles into awful lie in the rough and ends up taking a bogey ! There's the little luck that has probably decided it. Glad for him but sick for me lol. Scheffler birdies 17 and not going away

Don't be a div, any putt that goes in from that length is a fluke. You just set it off on a line and hope you 2 putt from there, if it goes in you thank your lucky stars and run to the next tee ! Trust me he'll say so himself later

Zalatoris birdies the 16th. This is sensational stuff. 3 within 1 shot

You really are an obnoxious prick, aren't you? If he plays the correct shot on the right line and it goes in, it's not a fluke.

If it hits a tree and goes in it's a fluke.

That's 3 uphill putts Zalatoris has left short now and will cost him the title. To leave that one short is criminal in the circumstances. Fitzpatrick's to lose now

If that had been Tiger Woods everyone would have said it was genius. It's only lucky if you didn't mean it.

Was that shot by Fitzpatrick a fluke?

Your clueless, I can't converse with you ! Listen to his interview afterwards. You might learn something, obviously not humility though .

Holy ****, how close from Zalatoris to forcing a play off. Grazes the hole but doesn't drop. Ultimately he'll look back at his driving today and it cost him. Well done Fitzpatrick, good to see an English winner again, could well go on to win a good few now. Zalatoris will surely win one soon and Scheffler will definitely win a few more.

Grow up you child, you call me obnoxious yet keep calling me a prick ! And for your information I had 50 quid each way on Zalatoris at 35/1 so I haven't done my dough. But hey you'll be educating a bookie about betting next lol. Pathetic
