Top 6 is still in our hands regardless of what Wrexham do tomorrow. It looks like us, Wrexham and Derby vying for 6th, there are no easy games and there will be slip-ups. Derby seem to be the form side of the 3 just now but they're also furthest adrift.
Keep the faith, it's not over 'til it's over!
Sorry Plum. I'm steeped in the history of City 'near misses'...I've seen too many. I won't be surprised if we fail this term. Don't get me wrong, 7th will be a huge disappointment, but looking from where we set off back in August, it will still go down as a very successful season and one to build on....Assuming we can keep the manager and the bulk of the squad with some key additions for next season.
Hope your right....Needless to say.

Looking at the replay of the penalty decision there are three separate incidents. In one, a Sheff player just pushes over one of ours. In the other two involving McBurnie and Joseph the players from each side are holding each other and fouling each other. There is nothing to give a penalty for, although there's an argument for a free kick for us. The ref seemed to also have no problem with their players jumping into ours when they went for headers, happened 5 times by my count without a single free kick.

Chris Wilder: "It was a game of basketball, it could have been 4-4 at half time.

Sorry, what!?

City had all the clear cut chances, we should have been out of sight at HT
At half time, it was like 10 shots each. 4 of ours on target, 3 of theirs. We had 2 'clear cut' and they had none.

Lundstram should never wear the shirt again. Let down 2.5k travelling fans. Was crap before the sending off nearly giving them a goal from a corner. Let him play with the U21s for rest of the season.
I said at the time of signing him that he wasn't overly useful at Ibrox(Bar his first season)...But then he sprayed a couple of diagonal long balls for us and he was Glen Hoddle...

Stiil,at least he can go back from whence he came.

Well, first of all I think it was a mistake taking both Millar and Belloumi off, one at least should have stayed on. Second, Lundstram, who I thought had had a decent game shouldn't have been off, first yellow wasn't, second was questionable but would have been irrelevant. Penalty? god alone knows how he picked a single foul out of that mess in the box. ****ty way to drop points.
For the first yellow, the incident that caused the flare up looked to me to be Lundstram standing on their guy's ankle or shin. Of course, it could have been accidental, but it was Lundstram.

Nevertheless we shouldn't have so easily thrown away both points after all the hard work we put in to take, and keep, the lead.

The ref was terrible, but Jesus Christ lunni.....you don't make a challenge like straight a foot away from the ref when you're on a yellow
Totally agree. He shouldn’t have got the first yellow. I was really close

Totally agree. Don’t understand anyone defending Lundstram for that challenge regardless of whether he should have been on a yellow or not - which he shouldn’t have been. He’s a liability. Loads of people around me were clapping him as he went off. When I spoke up about this a guy on the row in front told me that he wanted his midfielders to go in with strong tackles as that’s their job. My reply was that he’d no need to dive in there and he’ll probably now cost us the game…
The players can’t control a crap ref’s decisions but they can control their own decision making. For an experienced professional that was a poor one.
I feared the worst when I saw his name on the team sheet. Gutted that Collyer didn’t play.

Wilder: 'Delighted for the supporters'
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder told BBC Radio Sheffield:

"I'm delighted for the supporters that we got a win because it's an expectant club and crowd and we've not delivered on what we should have done.

"Not winning in six games is not good enough for me or the football club.

"It was a game of basketball, it could have been 4-4 at half time.

"We gave them their goal, they didn't need to work hard for it. Their opportunities, we've given them.

"I felt it was the right time to get Danny on. I challenged the subs before the game to make a difference and change the game because I don't think they have enough this season. Thankfully we did."

Jakirovic: 'We deserved to take something'
Hull City boss Sergej Jakirovic told BBC Radio Humberside:

"I think we played a good game, we were the better team and we had the better chances.

"I can not speak much (about the refereeing) because they will punish me.

"The referee was in the way of Lunny and he couldn't move and was late on the ball and for me, the penalty was for nothing.

"There is also maybe an offside (on their winning goal) and this is why we need VAR in this league. It is a crucial moment for our team.

"If you are a neutral it was an entertaining game. We deserved to take the points but unfortunately football is like this. This isn't a fair result."

Sheffield United fans hate him and I can see why.

Just got back , what was penalty given for? And what happened for Lundstrams first booking, ? I was sat low down in other corner, I just saw us win a corner then all of a sudden about 6 people scrapping , prob better to just watch at home in future, can see more haha …. Second booking also looked very much like ref impeded him and aren’t they supposed to stop game if that happens ? , but still stupid to dive in when you’ve just been booked . Overall though im not sure we did enough to warrant a win, they should have been ahead at half time if it wasn’t for poor finishing from them, we were very open .

Just watched the sky highlights confirming the penalty decision was absolutely ****ING WRONG. He;s a another ****er and thsoe decsions will end up with the championship having VAR next season. Jobs for another load of office based ****ers who cannot see what goes in a game.

Apologies to anyone who works in an office environment.

The Millwall decision was a farce and lost us the game. The ref lost us the game an all, Lundstrum also gets some blame for a stupid challenge. This breed of refs the Prem is creating are reliant on VAR as shown today. That Penno was a complete joke. What was he doing?

Emotions running high after a frustrating defeat , but no need to right off the season . Depending on how Wrexham do tomorrow, we might only need to win 2 out of 4 , nobody is expecting us to win 4 in a row and we almost certainly won’t need too.
Agree with this. We've got the points and I'd rather be us than Wrexham.

No easy games or gimmes in this division as we found out to our cost Today.Still all to play for and we've got our fate in our own hands...

Just before Lundstrum was sent off, I was expecting the subs to be him & Crooks, we needed more in the centre & with Lundstrum on a yellow & Crooks a walking red card every game, we needed more pace or more legs, I’d have stuck Powell, Gyabi or McCarthy in the midfield & Joseph for Crooks.
We so lack pace in the midfield & that’s what is costing us so badly, & everyone knows it.

But can Collyer? Collyer and Amir looked a really good midfield in the absence of Regan. Gyabi was also starting to look decent till he got injured.
Collyer and Koumas are both expected to be available for Birmingham.

Disappointing day today, but we’ve still got a very good chance of the play-offs.

I don’t think we’ve a prayer of winning them, but it would be nice to be in them.

I don’t even really want to dwell on it or talk about it. It will ruin my weekend. I know we’re still in the top six but I can see us falling out of it. People saying Brum, Leicester and Charlton are easy games obviously don’t know City that well.
All three not in form so we know the drill .
