Some half-decent footballers are going to be made very rich and happy should we be promoted in May. I have a lot more faith in our scouting team now.

Can’t see much cash being left after that spend though.

Part of me would be very worried if we go up
I'm not so much 'worried', more likely to be traumatised by the price and wages of a lower premier league standard larker nowadays. It'll soon run away with a £150million war chest and it's a gamble on whether they'll cut it or not.

Big pot of money but needs to be spent cautiously.

I don't think there will be anyone who doesn't want to get promoted, but there are some of us who are not enthused by the ****-show that is the EPL.

Some posters on here get excited about EPL teams playing each other and "Ooh, look at Tottenham" sort of things. I just couldn't give a **** and know very few of the players that get mentioned excitedly in some threads.

EPL fanboys sat in the home stands, going to away matches becomes harder, and there are half and half scarfs. There is VAR also which will presumably will be as biased against us, just as the refs were last time.

But ...

It helps breeds a new generation of supporters. Kids wear City shirts on the streets and in schools. Hull gets positive publicity world-wide. The money, if handled correctly coild transform our facilities and future prospects.

I don't like anything about the EPL but it would be crazy to not want to get there.
Totally agree with you, I hate the EPL, but it’s kind of a necessary evil.

We all know that IF we do go up, Acun’s going to spunk all the money on players, he wants the glory of being an owner of a PL club.
The only other thing that might happen is he might sell up, maybe that’s his overall goal, but I’m pretty sure he wants the glory.

According to people on X, Murat Ülker was at the game on Monday night and was even in the away end at Oxford. Interesting that he’s still following the club despite the McVitie’s sponsorship ending prematurely.

Any idea why he’s still hanging around or is he just a massive City fan now? @Howdentiger2

We did it in our first season in the Premier League under Bruce. We got Huddlestone, Livermore, McGregor and Figueroa and then added to it with players like Jelavic and Long in January to help keep us up. The core of the squad that played in the Premier League for those two seasons (Davies, Greegsy, Aluko, Thudd, Livermore, Dawson etc) stayed with us and helped us get back up.

If we went up, we'd need a few additions, but like Sunderland I wouldn't want to see a tonne of new players flooding us.
It's been a fair flood of new players that's got us where we are now though...

The lights of the prem are making people interested.

I said at the time when he dropped the sponsorship last time he wants to be involved if we are in the EPL. If we did make it then I suspect he may well be involved.

Probably total rubbish but when I was walking out the stadium against Wednesday I got speaking to a random fan, and he was utterly convinced he’s still funding Acun one way or another.

If we don’t go up I still think Acun will throw some some money at it with the transfer limitations in tact. It worries me if we go up, what utter big named dross we’d sign.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if we bought one or two of the older Turkey national team players.

The rumour is he wants to invest again if we go up. Which to me seems a bit **** because if we don't make it this season, we could do with the money to strengthen in what will be a hell of a tougher division next year.

But also, it'll depend on the finances with regards to FFP/PSR/whatever it's called these days. I was working under the assumption that us not spending on transfer fees for a year might have given us a bit of breathing room, but the wages have probably nullified that.

One player Acun really likes is Fener's LB Archie Brown. Used to be at Derby. He's had a great season too.

Probably likely to see us go for Vaclav Cerny too. Merih Demiral is out of contract in Saudi Arabia, if he takes the world's biggest paycut we'd probably have him here. Some of the more talented ones like Baris Alper Yilmaz and Kenan Yildiz are obviously not coming, but I'd be confident we could get the likes of Yuksek, Ozan Kabak and Mert Mulder in.
