He's right in that we shouldn't rely on them as allies and that should make Europe realise that it needs to stand together but other than that it's complete nonsense, full on conspiracy nuts are wondering what the **** the guy is on about.

it's also ******ed. Because it's essentially punishing the gulf states for a war he has started against their will. The nations predominently damaged by this, by far, are the gulf states that the US is claiming to help - but as per usual it's Europe who face the brunt of his social media outbursts

and the outbursts of those pair of absolute mongs that call themselves the Vice President and "Secretary of War"

Israel has always had capital punishment and it applies to Israelis too if found guilty of crimes against humanity or treason. To date only one Israeli has been executed on charges of high treason, Meir Tobianski. Although his execution was a total miscarriage of justice and a stain on the country's history.

This new law makes it easier to apply that punishment to perpetrators of deadly acts of terrorism that seek to undermine Israel's existence, by removing the need for a unanimous judicial decision to one of a simple majority. And yes, that last clause means that only Palestinians will be tried under that definition.
 
It would be interesting (and of course unthinkable) if a member of Neturei Karta or similarly anti-zionist Jewish groups who do explicitly call for the erasure of the State of Israel, carried out a deadly terror attack in the name of that cause.

Would they face the death penalty?

A US freelance journalist has been kidnapped in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, and one of the suspects is linked to an Iran-backed militia, Iraqi and US officials say.

Shelly Kittleson was abducted on Tuesday evening, said Al-Monitor, a news outlet for which she has contributed articles.

The Iraqi interior ministry said security forces had chased the reporter's abductors in a pursuit that resulted in one of the kidnappers' cars overturning and the arrest of one suspect.

A US state department official said an individual with ties to an Iranian-aligned militia group, Kataib Hezbollah, was detained by Iraqi authorities.

Dylan Johnson, assistant secretary of state for global public affairs, confirmed the abduction of an American journalist, without naming Kittleson.

He posted on X: "The State Department previously fulfilled our duty to warn this individual of threats against them and we will continue to coordinate with the FBI to ensure their release as quickly as possible."

It is understood that US officials had contacted Kittleson a number of times to warn of threats against her, including as late as Monday night.

Why does Iran pursue nuclear capability?
Possibly because Israel has an undeclared nuclear arsenal estimated at 80-400 warheads, has never signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty, faces zero international inspections, and has never been sanctioned for it.
Iran signed the NPT. Iran agreed to inspections. Iran signed the nuclear deal in 2015. The U.S. pulled out of that deal in 2018.
Every single item on your list is framed as Iranian aggression against “the West.” But none of them exist without the West’s 70-year campaign of overthrowing Iran’s democracy, installing a dictator, extracting its oil, arming its neighbors, invading the countries on its borders, and maintaining military bases throughout the region.
Now trace who benefits.
The 1953 coup was about oil. BP and American oil companies got the oil.
The Shah’s 26-year reign was about strategic positioning. The U.S. and Israel got a compliant ally on the Soviet border and in the Middle East.
The post-1979 framing of Iran as a “terrorist state” serves a specific function: it justifies permanent U.S. military presence in the Middle East, billions in annual arms sales to Saudi Arabia and Gulf states, and unconditional U.S. support for Israel’s regional dominance.
Every “Iranian attack” on your list occurred in a country where the U.S. had no legal right to be in the first place — Iraq, Syria, Jordan. American troops are stationed across the Middle East not because those countries asked for protection from Iran, but because the U.S. positioned itself there to control the region’s resources and protect its strategic architecture.

The invasion killed approximately 20,000 people, mostly civilians. Hezbollah was born as a direct resistance movement to that invasion.
The 1983 Marine barracks bombing on the commenter’s list killed 241 Americans. But why were U.S. Marines in Lebanon? Because the U.S. had intervened in the Lebanese Civil War, positioning itself as a participant in the conflict rather than a neutral peacekeeper. The Marines were shelling Druze and Shia positions from naval vessels before the bombing.

Your last paragraph is spot on ... Vance looks like a last minute stand in for the Rocky Horror show who's kid has had to do his make-up in a rush ...and surprised Hegseth hasn't rapidly changed his title to 'Secretary of Special Military Operations' given that they are sill claiming this is not a war as that would have required Congressional approval ...

Add in Ragnar Patelbrok, Pam Bondage and Kirsti Noclue and you have the most inept bunch of complete tits in the history of all American administrations...
 
Trump will claim the win when hostilities stop - the spin will be that the principle objective was to prevent Iran being able to make nuclear weapons and they've stopped / pushed back Iran's nuclear programme fot years ... have they? ... they've taken out individuals and destroyed infrastructure for sure ... but others have stepped in seamlessly it would seem ...

The reality is very different - he promised regime change - that's failed miserably - if anything, Iran showing how it can stand up to US/Israeli aggression and indeed retaliate as it has, will have raised many eyebrows in the region (and indeed the world - Putin will have been pissing himself) ... and the financial cost to the US is mind boggling.

No it's not. Read the first post, no accreditation whatsoever, the post you are referring to is everything I'd already said, but it still don't say who it is accredited to.

So from his first post, show me where the Guardian said this and used that image as a background to the text...

My concern is one day someone is going to get in some serious **** for what they post. By challenging it I'm doing my best to protect people in this section, to ensure they can prove it wasn't something they just created themselves or pulled from an extremist source.

Surely it's not difficult to say when posting, where an image was actually lifted from. I certainly always try and do that when posting, ie links - unless I'm typing a personal opinion, but that would not contain an unaccredited image.

If people are too blind to see why I challenge things, then I give up. Oh and before anyone says, if it was down to me GC would be binned off.
