Tinnon dropped from senior role

Alongside Hodgson's appointment Bristol City have relieved technical director Brian Tinnion of first-team duties.

The former Robins midfielder has been a hugely influential figure having been promoted to the role in 2022 and will now focus on the club's academy pathway while the Robins appoint a new sporting director.

That new appointment will be responsible for hiring a new head coach as well as conducting a review of City's football operations.

For the life of me I don't understand keeping Tinnion and his staff employed in any position.
I wasn't a big fan of Struber but under BCFC 'constraints' who on Earth can succeed.
Now we have Roy Hodgson to the end of the season and presumably helping find a sporting director and long term head coach.
It's typical of BCFC's make do and mend approach and abject ambition.

When the fans started with ‘sack the board’ chants after the WBA game my opinion is that the Lansdown’s, who clearly can’t take any sort of criticism against themselves, despite the years of getting things arse about face, decided Struber would be their fall guy
Might be wrong….

'Struber has been sacked after a run of one win in nine games in all competitions which has seen the Robins fall from the play-off places to 16th in the Championship and now are as close to the relegation zone as the top six.'

When you read this and study the facts it becomes clear why these necessary actions have been taken, bad form and a new broom clearing the decks.

Tinman was a good player for us in his time and I'll never forget that Liverpool goal but as a Manager and Technical Director he has struggled, a weight off the teams shoulders in more ways than one, Christ I remember Hodgson first time around, not to good., better this time we hope.

It’s the same Struber ball that beat Sheff U away first game of the season and a few other memorable victories.
We were right in the mix.
Then, ………. The dreaded January window happened..

It’s the same well it isn’t is it? The football picture now is slow ponderous pass pass sideways pass zero pressing up top! It’s ****!! What’s been going on there? Struber has been saying players are not up to it and are not doing what he says. So they the players haven’t got the ability to do what Struber wants?? Players are drained of belief no confidence in the coach and don’t follow what’s he says?? Seems to me Struber was losing faith in himself and instead of coaching the cracks and helping to solve what was going on, well he want up to it. Big picture was Strubers Bristol city became a poor team and thats on Struber.

Ok but do you honestly think Hodgson will get us scoring goals whilst not conceding - better than Struber?
I really hope so - but I fear not.
No amount of coaching will turn the current squad into playoff contenders.

The game is won in both boxes, we’ve no fit defenders left, and no proper strikers who score goals. The best manager in the world would struggle with that combination. That’s not down to the manager, it goes to the people at the top. In January we could all see we needed to use some of the Semenyo money to add depth and quality to the squad. What did we do?, sell our best players TO RIVALS, what do you expect, I for one feel sorry for Struber. Our owner doesn’t like popular managers who know more than he does, and tells it as it is, he has a record of stitching them up like kippers, Cotts, NP, and now Struber. It’s SL’s MO

Keeping your better players shows intent minimum. There's no reason why we didn't dig a bit deeper to keep both Zak & Anis. We should be strengthening not weakening. That to me wasn't Struber although I wasn't a fan of many of his decisions.
A reset (which could take a while and funding) may now be the only way.

no chance this season... wonder if the plan is to involve more fringe players?

on pre January form next 3 all pointables maybe 3 winnables ...

at the moment theoretically 61 pts is safe... although Portsmouth have to play Oxford and Leics
city V CHARLTON & SHEFF UTD..........

Here we go again on the WTF roundabout but at least I got one very serious question answered for myself and yes indeed we are still the same olde ****e as always. I knew Strubs and Lansdown were not of the same kilt and trouble was only just down the road, but when you criticize your bossy boots boss you will hit the stop sign quite soon. Bang

its a job for six weeks and seven games with Struber ball being now **** a no lose appointment even if Hodgson continues like Struber left it, till the new sporting director is in place to appoint a manager who thinks he can coach the players and motivate them to beat big teams like Port Vale.
