We need to let him continue until there's no excuses... A few more defeats and we'll be getting there.

He's pinning all his hopes on doing the same things, but only playing once week...it's one last punt.

He could yet put a run together...

Arne Slot literally spent £446m in one transfer window. Likewise the fact Thomas Frank is up there after one window and Spurs shows how terrible his signings were.

The table is skewed and meaningless.

Net Liverpool made loads on sales... Funny but you argued for net figures now you're arguing the opposite

Liverpool's spend was huge in the summer and the pay off has been terrible.

Likewise Frank, Le Bris and Moyes have only had one window, and they've spent a quarter or more than what Howe has spent in 8 windows. These figures actually put Howe in a good light.

He's still on my **** list after Sunday.

Right so a few weeks ago you wanted net spend and now you're only interested in spend.

Newcastle have the 5th highest net spend since Howe took the job and they were the 5th hightest spenders in the summer.

Of course the starting position of those clubs squad wise 4 years ago is also a factor. Overall one window has undone us. Hopefully the next one puts it back on track.

yeah and that is why Slot is likely being released at the end of the season. So:

Slot wins premier league, spends £450m, has a crap season and gets peddled.

Howe wins the Carabou cup, spends £250m, has a crap season and............... as you were, oh and here's another £150m.

Utterly insane

Approx £100m net in the window, if we had just got Thiaw, Ramsey and Elanga, and ditched Kelly and Laecelles in the window, and hung on to Isak, the window would have been a success for £100m.

The Isak was a huge spanner in the works - we knew he was off and couldn't replace in him Joao Pedro, Sesko, Mbemubo, Ekitike etc after we bid for them. In the end we had to go for options significantly down in our choices. I think it's hard to underestimate the effect our best player leaving and not being able to replace him has been.

This is necessarily a defence of Howe, more that we got massively shafted at the start of season.

Newcastle have the 5th highest net spend since Howe took over. Ashley spent big in his last few seasons also.

All I see is excuses

The spend was completely on track up until the summer window - we'd got into the Champions League twice and won our first trophy in 70 years.

The problem was just this summer's transfer window....or more accurately the problem created in the summer by Isak wanted to leave and us not being able to get our first choices to replace him.

Nah you're just deciding that

Every club sells players.. Brentford sold us Wissa... Selling a player doesn't overshadow everything.

When he's your best player, scores most of your goals and you're not able to replace him properly, it does.

No it doesn't because all clubs sell players it gives them opportunities.

Wissa and Mbuemo left Brentford btw. Newcastle paid huge amounts for one of them.

Newcastle didn't make the right decisions and Howes not managed to get the best out of his very expensive squad... The Isak situation wasn't ideal, but you don't get to hide all the errors behind that.

So how are we going to cope when Tonali, Tino and Gordon or Bruno leave in the summer? They are our best players. Round and round we go.

Face that situation when and if it happens.

Munson's referring to us as "Newcastle" again, time to get outta here.
