Well she was well known with the Christian and Muslim men.

I’ll say no more bro.

Islam came after Christianity so no one really referred to themselves as a Muslim back then. Jesus didn't even refer himself as a 'Christian'. He was a Jew

and I think you've been reading the Playboy version of the Bible tbph brh

apart from that I'd say we have a decent starting point for some debate lolZ

Okay, I’ll remove the religions out of it. Mary sounds like a woman who was well known and well liked by all the men. Let’s not be naive bro…. We know what that means.

Thing is, Christianity, Islam, even Judaism are all still relatively young in terms of this planet and the existence of all of its indigenous peoples ... if those events in the middle-east were really so important to humanity's future, you wonder why 'God' didn't just put ethereal Big Screens up around the rest of the world so that everybody on the planet could watch and take note?

Just saying <whistle>

Sucky? You really need to understand I know **** all about religions and I have never even looked at any of your books?

You said this Mary bird is in your book and the bible. All the men clearly knew and had a thing for her. You saying she didn’t lap up the attention and turn into a lady of the night?

Come on bro. We know the score with birds like that.

I don't think I've truly ever tried to make sense of any claims within religion. Example: It's fascinating as a kid to know that animals went on the Ark and then the big floods came....

It's a story, humans are good at creating stories.

In fact humans are so good at creating stories that they worship them. That's not even me dismissing religion nor mocking it. I believe you should respect religion, whatever religion.

For me it's about respect, and teaching oneself respect, no matter your age, learn.

If I go into a church or cathedral it's to admire the architecture, it's age, its grandeur, it's peace, it's solitude, time to pause and reflect. Not sure that's the core principles of prayer though.

It should be a place of safety to, but sadly humans have butt ****ed that one into oblivion.

So what do I believe, I believe in something greater than I could ever imagine (non human). Seeing the wonders of nature, seeing the wonders of the universe especially in the todays age is just mind boggling, fascinating.

People often say why does God allow xyz if he truly exists, have we not seen what a hostile, destructive, hellish place that is the Cosmos, yet from it comes the beauty of everything, but it's just easier to blame someone else I suppose for human failings.

We know the answers to nothing, but like to think we know the answers to everything, when we die will we find out, who knows. Tongue in cheek sudden thought, if you ****ed around, you find out.

My brain says it would love to know, but would it, really, that could be like finding aliens and regretting what we find. But i'm ready for the journey, not afraid, it's what's in the soul that matters, at peace with oneself, bring it on.

I prefer life at a slower pace now, I find humans too self absorbed. Quick google is prayer self-absorbed? Prayer is not inherently self-absorbed, but it can become so if focused exclusively on personal desires rather than seeking God's will.

So if you can find yourself 5 mins of solitude or prefer the mass thing, why not pray it's got to be better than a lot of other pointless stuff that humans trouble their minds with in life.

End of todays sermon. Amen. Going to make a cuppa now.

As sermons go, it was pretty good - with lots of 'musings' very similar to my own thoughts / take on things ...

For me, the biggest 'problem' I have with all religion is that they seem universally prone to corruption by ambitious, greedy, power hungry, men ...

I didn't realise Pete Hegseth had tattoos, probably because I always see him in a suit. Been watching the **** on Christian Nationalism, which is how I came to seeing his tatts, you'll see why he featured when I stick the picture up.

Got me thinking, is my (CofE) religion classed as Christian Nationalism, because it is represented heavily in the House of Lords, let's see what AI says...

AI Overview

The representation of the Church of England (CofE) in the House of Lords is widely regarded as an institutional link between church and state, but whether it constitutes "Christian nationalism" is a subject of debate

While Christian nationalism is often defined as an ideology that seeks to fuse national identity with a specific form of Christianity, the role of the 26 bishops (Lords Spiritual) in Parliament is more commonly classified as a remnant of the "established church" system rather than an active, ideological Christian nationalist movement.

Ok, let's try that question again, because I'm sure it gave a different answer earlier:

The representation of the Church of England (CofE) in the House of Lords, known as the "Lords Spiritual," is considered a form of institutional Christian heritage or established religion, rather than "Christian nationalism" in the modern, populist sense, though it is viewed by critics as a form of religious privilege.

Anyway that picture...it's a video actually, but I've set it to start where the tatts are. They look extreme to me, like tatts are a message within them...

You can corrupt anything if that's who you are

I can turn my car into a weapon but by definition that is not what it is. The car doesn't need scrapping, the human behind the wheel on the other hand...

I don't see it as a reflection on the religion I see it as a reflection on humans.

I separate believing in a higher power (God if you will) and religion.

Having faith in your personal life and space, I get it. Put yourself into a religion and it becomes tribal and almost cult like, imo.

The reason for conflict is primarily about resources and the aspects of nationality, religion etc are flavoring to cause violence amongst the masses.

What's happened in recent years isn't that Islam has suddenly gotten worse than ever before, but that the majority of the worlds oil supply happens to sit underneath countries that are predominantly Muslim and if those countries were left to their own devices and allowed to flourish they would have complete control over the worlds economy.

What we have successfully done is managed to destabilize and cause massive internal disagreements that means most Arab nations rely on the US to police the ME which gives the US full control over oil.

It serves every single major powers interests for the ME to be a weak ****hole. It's the one issue that unifies the US and China.

tbf as soon as some ME countries have been stable and gotten some power, they have immediately began sponsoring terrorism and genocide around the world - Libya, Iraq, Iran, the Saudis and the UAE have all done this.
