Why can't the Europeans grow a pair and not attend the WC and have an alternative competition in Europe?

Especially now that AFCON has paved the way for Trump to somehow get the US team to win the competition or any other team he has a deal with.

It’ll be a bit of a dirge early on with the expanded format but the vast majority of Europeans watching from home aren’t going to give a **** where it is or what Trump does/says during it. We’ve had Russia and Qatar with Saudi to come with only minor objections and no teams choosing not to go.

I think you're missing the point, It's not about what that idiot says or does.

It's about making a stand as actions speak louder than words. Not to mention in terms of safety. IMO the World Cup has become the perfect stage for any real acts terrorism completely caused D T and the D*** heads behind him.

Yeah I get it even if I don’t agree any hypothetical terrorism would be the fault of the US government.

Is a US (mostly) World Cup in 2026 more ridiculous than any or all of Russia, Qatar and Saudi when they did or will? It’s a subjective call but I don’t think so. Most people aren’t engaged with even something as massive as this and would want the World Cup to take place if it was scheduled for North Korea or Eritrea. Calls to cancel or boycott it, while noble, are quite niche still.

Trump's immigration policies messing this up too.

We are flying to Vancouver in early June to hang out with my friend of 50 yrs, Mario, who sold me a 1967 red MGB Roadster in 1976. We are going to watch Australia v TBD and New Zealand v Egypt (so both Kiwi & Didley will be happy!).

People with or without knowledge will still go for Australia. Only home grown will be NZ.
Australia are very good at stealing a draw from a victory! Bet a draw.
Stay classy Canada!

Looking forward to these playoffs. Obviously a huge task for NI to get through the semi-final let alone the final but I’d love them to give Italy a bloody nose.

A shame they aren’t spread for TV. All on Thursday night.

Also for the insomniacs there’s the intercontinental playoffs on FIFA+ which I think is free to air online or downloading the app.

Suriname v Bolivia 10pm Thursday
New Caledonia v Jamaica 3am Friday

TBD possibly Slovakia?

Would imagine they’re marginal favourites being at home twice if they make it. Bit boring though.

Turkey would presumably have a lot of fans there including those in the US/Canada, Romania there’s a 90s romanticism to it and also probably a large diaspora community in the US/Canada and Kosovo just seem a good bunch.
