Ok, so things starting to get serious.

Top 6, gaining on Hull (although they apparently have a bye this week). Wrexham could have a tough away fixture at Sheffield Utd. Really hoping the City of Sheffield shows some steel and takes a minimum of 4 points this weekend. Always liked Wednesday.

Great result v Norwich last night, really dug deep.

Special shout out to the officials last night, particularly the ref. He was an altogether different type of special. I get the standards of refs dip down the leagues, but surely the FA or whoever will look into that performance. Not sure I have witnessed such a poor game from a ref. Are they likely to take action against that type of performance @tomw24 ?

I had heard that the AFCON where hoping he had African heritage so he could take part in the next farce. I mean AFCON tournament.

It did make me wonder with this standard of refs, and I hate to say it, but VAR would be better in this division. Edozie took a high boot early on that would have been a red in the EPL, he was then fouled for a penalty that would have been given in the EPL. Plus loads more. Really, really, really poor officiating. Im sure Norwich could also point to lots of things they felt unfair, too.

Anyhow, back to the game - we go again against a resurgent Oxford. Another game that could cause an upset potentially so we really need to be on our game.

Larin looked knackered, worst game for us last night I felt.

Downes is a better version right now than he was last time in this division. Peretz just wins us points. Bree I really hope we can offer and he take us up on a new contract, and Azaz has been very good once again against good opposition.

Really hoping we have at least one of Stewart or Leo back, both would be excellent. Also wonder if Shea will come in for Jander, too.

Enjoy the game...

Jander and Downes seems to work, whereas Charles and Downes doesn't. So I'd keep it as is (because we definitely want Downes starting).

Tonda said after the Norwich win that Scienza and Stewart were close to being involved in the match day squad but the game came a little too soon. He suggested Saturday might be possible for them

I honestly wouldn't bother risking Scienza, not worth it especially with Edozie performing well last night.

Let him have a couple more weeks off and then come back raring to go for Arsenal.

If he's fit, no reason not to have him on the bench.

Ben Toner. A ref who sees things in black and white? Newcastle fan?
Name: Ben Toner Birthplace: Blackburn, Lancashire
Background:
Toner made his football league debut in the League Two game between York City and Burton Albion in January 2015, before making his League One debut the following season.

He refereed the Leicester 4 - 3 match. Also the Millwall 3 - 2 defeat.

Oxford a potential banana skin? Only side in the division who can match us on form over last four.

Am going to this, Itchen again, having never sat their before this season, I quite like it there.

Word of warning though- despite attending a large number of games, I still haven't seen us win since the playoffs in May 2024.

I can’t jinx this one, surely?
Of course you can, but don’t worry, the blame will only last a few seasons, or untl we find another scapegoat!

I really want Oxford to stay up at the expense of our fishy friends. Leicester and Portsmouth relegated would be fantastic. But we need the points.

We’ll smash em. Same team please.
