There's a reason why Bundesliga teams are keeping tabs on him. I would certainly look to initiate extension talks during the international break. If we keep saying "it's early days" it will reach the last year of his contract and then we're vulnerable to him being poached.

I don't think a longer contract makes it any less likely he's poached. If he gets a better offer he'll be gone.

The best scenario I think for him is we get into the playoffs, get to the final and lose to as dodgy VAR decision.

That way he has been successful, we were hard done by and we don't have to endure the PL next year. We keep Tonda 'vowing to get us promoted' and are able to attract decent players next year. We then storm the league and go up with 110 points. The following year we finish top ten after some amazing recruitment.

Yeah not to actually piss on anyone's chips but he hasn't actually achieved anything yet. 7th in the table with our budget isn't the world's greatest accomplishment
Looking at the bigger picture though. In his 24(?) games he is top 2 at least and possibly top. It’s not fair (or factually correct) to say that he is responsible for our 7th place. That is 100% down to Still (and SR taking too long to make a change). I agree that it may be early days but as I have said before, he has turned the mentality of the players round and you could see clearly what that win against Coventry meant to them. There is a winning mentality within the whole squad right now and you could easily argue that he is getting the best out of the squad we have right now.

I actually don’t know what more he could have done??

Missed out the FA Cup.

The way Tonda set us up against Fulham does give me encouragement that he would make a much better fist of things in the PL though.
Yeah. He's already shown much more flexibility and nous than Martin, who was always going to be a disaster in the Premier League. We started well under Tonda before teams worked us out for a few games. I actually think the main issue then may have been that we just didn't have the players to do anything else but, whatever the case may be, there's no doubt he and Spors made the right signings in January. Peretz has been a huge step up from Bazunu and McCarthy and while Larin isn't a world beater he's exactly the type of striker we needed.

Contracts in football all seem a bit funny money to me as realistically it's just a lever in negotiations as if the manager wants to go then they'll go and it's down to when and how much really

So one of our top targets in the summer was Rosenior.

I didn't know an awful lot about him as a manager apart from managing Hull, but from what I seen and heard from him since he has been at Chelsea, I am glad he didn't end up here.

There is just something about him that annoys me.

Hope Tonda can keep the success going, and he stays, so that we don't have to think about managerial appointments for a while.

Yeah one thing about Tonda is he is the least annoying manager we have ever had I think. I don't think he has 'annoying' in him.

As an aside, nice to hear the Norhtam singing his name after the goal. What are all the words as all I got was "We've got Eckert, (who), Tonda Eckert"....

"We've got Eckert
Tonda Eckert
Just don't think you understand
He's gonna take us up
Win the FA Cup
We've got Tonda Eckert"

Rosenior gives me Martin vibes in that he loves himself and proclaims himself a football genius and innovator that is just to clever for normal people to understand. I might be being harsh, I’ve not watched a whole lot of him, but thats the impression I get.

He's definitely one of them.
