My dr retires end of the month
Always voted best GP in hull
Could always get an appointment same day or next day
Excellent care
Staff are brilliant
Got a text end of Jan to say he was retiring
Two days later got a text off the new regime to explain reasons why you don’t need to see a Dr!! GTF
Dr Hendow?

My Daughter is awaiting a bladder scan and has been for some time.Got a letter in a couple of weeks ago but the appointment had passed so obviously she phoned them up and explained, reception very apologetic and said they'd send her another one out.

She then received a letter with the usual nonsense about how her and people like her had cost the NHS X amount over the last year.

She's just today received another appointment warning her that it's her last offer and if she fails to attend she'll be removed from the list...

These people are incompetent at best!!!
Tell her to join the NHS app or Patient Know Best site (if you have it up there), they tell you the letter is on the way and the contents of it.

UK GP Appointments.

I just tried to get an appointment for my Mum via the online booking for the big surgery on Calvert Lane. According to the website nothing available through the 16th of June and that's the furthest out you can go.

That's crazy.
And yet, I rang my surgery at 8am last Thursday, was already 9th in the queue. Made a 15minute appointment for 10.40 that morning. A couple of years ago, I rang at 8 was 1st in the queue and was sat in front of a doctor at 8.35, in hospital by 9.30 and on the ward at 11.
My Doctors surgery is great, one of the Doctors told me that they see around 150 patients on same day appointments. You can actually make an appointment for 7am and as late as 6.30pm.
I know it's different for other people, the other local surgeries are impossible to get same day appointments at times and the wait for general ones is about six weeks.

I watched a YT video of a western couple in China. Their child was very ill, they went direct to a hospital, at 9.30 paid $3 for an appointment and were in front of a doctor at 9:40. They needed blood tests which were done immediately and cost $10 shocking they had to wait 15 minutes for the results. They suspected pneumonia so at 10:20 the child had an x ray costing $25 and the diagnosis was confirmed. They then were prescribed some medicine/drugs which cost $6 dollars and they were out of the hospital at 10:55. (figures maybe be slightly off, but it cost nothing to them financially really nor time)

I once went to see an acupuncturist in a Hong Kong, as I was having a problem with me knee. He said I'd need an X-ray before he could diagnose the issue, I said I didn't have time, he said you can get it done downstairs in about fifteen minutes, so I did and it was less than £50. The X-ray place told me to go straight back to the acupuncturist and when I got there five minutes later, he already had my X-ray up on his screen.

It's incredible service there.

Not sure we've got that up here T.W.We're still sawing legs off with a piece of wood firmly placed between the teeth, that's after the patient has slugged a bottle of moonshine...

I have also lived in places where the state provider is so poor that entrepreneurs have set up private services. Walk in blood test and results in 2 hours, walk in ultra sound. The problem comes when you find out what's wrong but no one wants to take on the big risky jobs.

Teeth, in Scotland?

In reply to AI Ric, Glasgow.
Don't even go there!!!

I have a crown with a post, top front, next to a denture.Fell out a week past on Sunday, phoned the dentist's on Monday, first appointment in a month's time, " in the meantime just buy some cement from Boots and stick it back in yourself"...

I've been attending that surgery since the late 70's as has the wife and the whole family(kids and grandkids are all registered).

Now the denture keeps falling out ,mid rant, as it has nothing to grip as the tooth to one side is on top of my wardrobe ...

Cement from Boots,**** that I've still got half a bag of blue circle out in the shed!!!

The cheeky,cheeky bastards...

At least you've got a dentist and a month will soon pass. Our dentist left last year and we were told we'd get one when we got one. Fortunately they did get one, just four months passed our six month check up cancelled appointment, so not too bad.
In the meantime if you're really struggling I have some inch seven screws, bought from when Chanterlands DIY had a different owner. :emoticon-0138-think

Checked Google, says the NHS app isn't available in Scotland, but they're rolling their own type out from next month. Patient Knows Best is available up there, you have to ask a HCP for an invite for it.

Sadly my dentist down there retired suddenly in December as he was having issues with his eyesight that came on rapidly. It transpired that the sight issue was due to a TIA( mini stroke) and as if that wasn't bad enough he suffered a stroke between Xmas and New Year and lost his speech and facial expression!!! He's doing a bit better now and regained some speech but his stroke was brought on by atrial fibrillation and up until last week he was waiting to see a cardiologist to see whether or not they can do 'ablation' to try and get his heart back in rhythm?

He's a multi millionaire but he really loved his job and he was telling me the other night he's finding it hard to adjust to not working(he's 59).

I told him to **** up and get better and when he is we're going for a drink on me!!!

I also told him that my crown had fell out and I've got a gaping hole in my front teeth and when I see him I'm going to knock his front teeth out...That cheered him up:emoticon-0102-bigsm,

Nice lad,I had a lot of time for him and I've offered him help if he needs it during his rehabilitation.Fit as a fiddle too,you just never know the minute.

What the **** is an HCP?

I self referred for physio last week, nurse told me to as "These people know what they're doing and if theres anything abnormal going on with your hip/pelvic region they'll refer you".It's a ****ing app and a ****ing robot grills you for half an hour. Finally I was accepted for physio via an app called 'phio'?

Anyway all is good and as I was accepted I get an email every day to open the app as my exercises are ready to view :emoticon-0102-bigsm :emoticon-0102-bigsm :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I’m there can she or a relative get there for 7-30 , you pick up a numbered card and when it officially opens at 8 you can make an appt that day or near to see a doc . The numbers run to about 10 I think .
