I spoke with a Rangers season ticket holder about Dowell. He was less than complimentary about him and said he was glad to get rid.But Dowell has done zero, zilch, nada, nothing to show that he deserves a place in front of Slater, Amir, Crooks... and without sounding like a broil ken record and I do, the only time we have not conceded 2's or 3's when Giles hasn't been available is when Famewo has played... and yes McNair could do a decent job there...
I used to like Burns commentating. Now, he does my fkn head in.Beaten out of sight there by a team set up from the first whistle to fight for their lives, and it has to be said, City didn't seem to fancy it from the very first vicious tackle on Slater inside the first minute. West Brom bullied us from there on and we rolled over and let them.
The important first goal was another gift from City, another under hit kick from Pandur and not even an effort to save the shot as though he knew he'd cocked up. The sending off was ridiculous and harsh, also totally avoidable and from there we we were a mess.
At times West Brom looked as though they had 15 players to our ten and fully deserved the points. We were poor all game and got what we deserved.
Also the home fans loved it, as they would, probably their biggest and best win of the season. I felt sorry for our away following, City gave them nothing to cheer today.
Just one comment on the different commentors. The WBA pair said the sending off was a yellow card at best, Dave Burns said Hughes was deservedly sent off.

It was obvious within 5 minutes or so that it wasn’t working and I’m sure I wasn’t the only one voicing that in the crowd. The midfield was outnumbered and overrun, either through playing three centre-backs or through trying to shoehorn in certain players (eg Gelhardt). Very early doors I think he should have brought on Hadziahmetovic and taken off Ajayi once it became obvious it wasn’t working - which was well before their goal. I also think we need Joseph on from the start. I hope there was still illness in the camp as an excuse for the flat performance. Otherwise I think we are ****ed. Soton will overtake someone, and at the moment it looks like us.Regarding the 3 at the back, with hindsight it didn’t work for us today but I didn’t think it was a negative set up. A winger in one wing back position with 3 advanced forwards. I thought it was a very attacking team on paper.
If we don’t beat Wednesday it will be “ pass the revolver “ time. The thought of it leaves me mortified. We absolutely have to beat Wednesday and Oxford. The last six games look incredibly tough and we look incredibly ****.
Pandurs kicking has not been too good this season what I want to know is what the hell have the training staff been doing with him all season. Not quite sure where the DOGSO is to send Hughes off. Criminal pass from Pandur for their first but nothing new there.
Burnsy doesn't get a replay, he's doing radio coverage and watching it live - tbh, he's said it often enough. No, I was just wondering if the WBA commentators had the benefit of replays before deciding on the validity of the red card. I don't believe Burnsy did.
Not true. Some grounds give them screens for replays. It's even worse to be speaking so confidently without a replay though.Burnsy doesn't get a replay, he's doing radio coverage and watching it live - tbh, he's said it often enough.
If you park the table positions JEX, if it was game 3 as an example, you'd have expected to lose. They simple have better players than us unfortunately, not in every position but in general.Certainly a day to forget and one that needs quickly erasing from the memory.
I felt the gaffer got it wrong, not often he does, but the set-up just looked out of balance.
WBA were just the better side, and seemed more up for it than we did.
Just need to sack this one off, regroup and put things right against Wednesday.
