I did similar, although in my 20’s and with a partner. But still living in our first home and if we were house shopping under the same circumstances now we wouldn’t have been able to afford this house. Or very much at all in the area. I still have the right move and zoopla alerts active and it’s only once every couple of months something pings up within our price cap.
My wife keeps going on Rightmove and looking in estate agents windows- as far as I know there's no intention of moving, more like 'here's what you could have won '. I'm getting quite adept at feigning interest.

Sorry to hear of your need to see a heamatologist Ric , going myself twice a year for now.
No need to be sorry,we all have our cross to bear. We're getting old and old age doesn't come alone:emoticon-0102-bigsmI'm seeing mine again on March the 31st and he's said that if my paraproteins /IGM/this that and the other levels have remained stable,he'll extend the time between consultations.Suits me as he's not particularly friendly anyway,he's a bit curt to be honest, some are nicer than others.

As you know yourself, these things can be a bit of a ticking time bomb and you just hope it's all good when you go to see them but it's not something we can alter or change through worry,so I don't.In fact worry can probably make things worse.

I was set to get back to work and my nephew had offered me some part-time security work in September but I had a set back with another issue(Haemochromatosis) and had to go for venesection(vampire clinic) on a regular basis, that was awful actually as it's done in the chemo ward and you're sitting amongst people far worse than yourself suffering from various cancers,it makes you feel like a fraud but I met some nice people and we had a few giggles(especially one day when the nurse splattered a fountain of blood over my white Fred Perry when she removed the 'spear' she'd put in my arm) .It just wasn't possible to hold down a job with all this going on and I didn't want to let an employer down or my nephew so I shelved it.I don't consider myself a leach for claiming benefits, others can think what they want.I'm determined to get back at some point as I've got cabin fever sitting around twiddling my thumbs.

Anyway, enough about me,I hope your condition is manageable and not causing you any significant issues.I'll DM you later on.

Up The Tigers!!!

Same with pensioners
House paid off
£450 a year towards heating bills
Free prescriptions
Free eye test
Free travel .
Talk about entitled generation then call the generations below. lazy ,and they don't know they are born when getting a job down right hard ??
Much depends on whether the pensioner has money in the bank and if they've chosen to declare it.

My parent's did and I can assure you your list is wrong in several departments.

Had to claim "benefits" for a few months recently having worked constantly for 10 years and paid into the system. Rather hoped I'd get a bit more for doing my bit. **** knows how anyone manages to live off them. I must be in the wrong category, ie a normal bloke, no kids, homeowner, who fell on hard times.

Anyway those days are gone, hopefully for good. Onwards and upwards.

Why do people make the comparison of welfare burden migrants coming to the UK vs people going and retiring to Spain from the UK. Its apples and oranges.

It just shows you to be a dimwit who cant see beyond layer one of a problem.
Yep.
On the many times I've been to Spain, I don't recall resident Brits living there doing **** like this ...... https://x.com/i/trending/2032069411725578325

Watched a programme about non stun halal slaughter in some or other U.K abatoir(Yorkshire somewhere) recently, can't remember the blokes name but he's an Australian animal rights activist(animal aid or something),I'll look for it on you tube.

I have never seen anything like it in my life,it was sickening and the level of abuse that the lambs suffered left me feeling physically sick. This place was inspected from time to time so I've no idea how or why it wasn't shut down?

I like a bit of chicken or fish and a twice yearly sirloin but I'm seriously considering going veggy or pescatarian(not Presbyterian before anyone comments on my faux faith again)!!!

Edit,'Animal Aid' on you tube 'Slaughterhouse Investigations' or words to that effect...Take once before meals.

Animal slaughter is horrendous enough but this takes it a further level.
As the quote goes "If animals were able to formulate a religion then the Devil would be in the human form".
But the point was more about these people insisting they can impose their stupid medieval beliefs in our country, and also fighting their wars on our soil; things that ex pat Brits in Spain (or elsewhere) don't do. I'm utterly sick of it.

Pretty easy. Get a sky subscription and eat takeaways and ready meals every day.

I don't blame any person or pensioner getting out of this Country. My eldest Daughter is 41,civil servant since the day she left school, high ranking now, clever girl and very generous to her Mum and I(always popping round with M&S meals for us,not that we need or ask for it but she's just a nice human being who loves her Mum and Dad)...She needs her head looking at concerning her love for me,Grumpy Grandad the Bairns have jokingly labelled me :emoticon-0102-bigsm

She's comfortably off,has 2 kids, married(he's high up in the Civil service too),has one year left on her mortgage and she's looking to leave this Country. It would break my heart not to see the kids on a daily basis but I can see why she wants out.The 2 of them pay substantial contributions in terms of tax and N.I but she's fed up seeing her money being dished out to lazy bastards who want for nothing!!

That's what the young bird who lives 3 doors from me does, seems happy enough :emoticon-0148-yes: and partakes in regular Jamican Woodbines as she hurtles along the Street to place one of the kids(late) into School of a morning. No such problem with the other two, they get taxi'd to School and she then heads to the nailbar.

Lovely lass...

She sounds it! I find resourcefulness such an attractive trait.

I don't blame them at all, I'm seriously considering moving abroad, I've been fortunate enough to be offered something pretty interesting in the UAE. Although trump has put a spanner in the works, I still believe it's the best option for me long term. The country is fantastic, the culture is amazing ( and respected by those who've arrived there). Immigration is delt with properly, success is celebrated not frowned upon, hard work is supported, laziness/unwillingness to work isn't supported. You have people from every single corner of the world living together and it works and despite what the UK media try to portray, it's extremely safe. Even with everything going on ATM, id rather my family walk around Dubai at night then London

Tldr didn't read most of your diatribe, because the moment you called me a thick **** (I can guarantee my IQ is higher than yours) you lost any respect in what you're saying. I didn't mock you not working, I merely pointed for different reasons we don't need to work tomorrow, you added the reasoning behind my comment. You need to realise people can have an opposing view without hating each other
Mines is 124, top 15% of the UK. True story.

I don't earn a lot (less than 30k) and got onto the ladder last year and I'm only 30 odd and living on my own. Same with a lot of my friends (minus the living alone bit). Don't know what all the fuss is about re youngsters not being able to do it. Prioritise it and it's more than doable, although choosing somewhere cheap like Hull doe.

Mine's probably in the bottom 15%.

To be fair though,I did do an online one once but I'm not overly sure it was a legit or accurate measuring tool? Anyway it came back at 138 when I printed it out to show my wife that I wasn't a thick **** afterall, problem was her printer was a bit short on ink at the time and I fear the - had been omitted:emoticon-0116-evilg
