Is it? I've never felt bashed for being a man and I've never felt that i am at a disadvantage for being male. In fact, life is pretty good to be a man and nothing to complain about.Do we recognise men for much these days other than misogyny or being sex pests etc ? which seems to be a current focus . Some are like that but the vast majority not .
Men tend to just get one with it - life that is and work . Over the last 5-10 years men bashing has become the norm , some deserve it of course .
I’ve never questioned why I’ve worked for 52 years , just thought it’s what I had to do - maybe I’m the fool .
Maybe show a bit more leg?Is it? I've never felt bashed for being a man and I've never felt that i am at a disadvantage for being male. In fact, life is pretty good to be a man and nothing to complain about.
It can be hurtful when I walk past building sites and I'm not whistled at though.
Think you and I are a long way apart . Again you’ve failed to respond to my points , you’ve slotted in ‘disadvantaged’ I never said that at all . If you cannot discern from what I put as something recognisable or of value then you’ve had a very comfortable life of ignorance . If you’ve watched the MSM or listened to Radio in the day you might have spotted some real biases of gender recognition . I know women were ‘excluded’ from many roles such as the media for eons , that was a cultural and societal issue based on traditional roles right or wrong . That’s being redressed now and I’m sure will settle down to some norm . My point was there is mass recognition of Intl Women’s Day but v little will said about the men’s day . I wanted to highlight the empathy and sympathy I have for working and retired crippled men who society ignore . Poor last comment tho , trite and unnecessary especially as you appear to have no idea what I’m saying and so drag it down to a single poor comment . I’ve never said I’m at a disadvantage as a man but nobody gives a f*** about the physical damage so many men endure to put food on the table, but give you roads , power , buildings to live in .Is it? One of the benefits of having 'gynecomastia'(side effect of prostate drugs),is you can wobble your wobbly bits and attract some male attention....Maybe show a bit more leg?![]()
International womens day is to recognise the fight for equality and liberation of women in society, spring. We have never suffered gender inequality or been trapped in society due to our gender - I'm sure as an older gent, you didn't stay at home for a couple of years and look after your babies.Think you and I are a long way apart . I agree with your last sentence...Progress at last.International womens day is to recognise the fight for equality and liberation of women in society, spring. We have never suffered gender inequality or been trapped in society due to our gender - I'm sure as an older gent, you didn't stay at home for a couple of years and look after your babies.
Plenty give a **** about the physical damage caused to men and women working - there's a whole health and safety industry and unions and politicians campaigning for safer and healthier work environments - a lot of what has been mocked on here in the past.
You are without doubt correct that manual work causes long term physical injuries, but the majority of working western European men work at desks and have ****ed backs from sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours a day, driving home and sitting on the sofa in the evening. Not sure they need an international mans day to commemorate that.
My personal belief is that men and women who do lower paid manual work for an X number of years should get private healthcare covered by the companies that profited (maybe from a collective fund) and retire five years younger.
First para - was I not trapped in society due to gender inequality because I couldn’t give birth therefore had to both ‘stay’ in long term work and take that ‘responsibility ‘ ? I had one choice. Not to marry the woman I loved and not to help conceive . Had my wife been a higher earner than me them financial necessity kicked in .International womens day is to recognise the fight for equality and liberation of women in society, spring. So,I'm just hearing that this 'vape shop' that set off the tragic set of events that has caused millions of pounds worth of damage, wasn't licenced to sell vapes and hadn't paid it's rates for a year...Typical modern high street, and 'cash only, please'.
