Lets get away from the continual post mortem on Pompey and concentrate on our next match. It won't be easy I watched some of their game last night and they were a masive threat at set pieces, very worrying after our last few games!, and are very solid at the back. What should Nigel do. Keep the same side or .............?
Drop guly to the bench, give Hammond a rest, move spiderman in the middle with cork and hopefully connelly will be ready to start by then. Give guly, de ridder and chappers a run out in the secondhalf.
Don't change it. Maybe just the CM, if Chaplow or Connolly is back then swap for one of the CMs. Never change a winning team, we played well at Pompey. You shouldn't change it all and unbalance the team
Jedinak will be suspended for them, after picking up five bookings, but Zaha will be available having now served his own suspension for five bookings.
Call me stupid but 5 points from a possible 15 is not really a winning team so i think we should make changes for me if everyone is fit then chaplow cork morgan and lallana have got to play in midfield we really need to get back to winning ways so i hope he plays a team to score goals rather than one that trys not to concede.
Hopefully chaplow is back.. so we can have back in contention for the bench.. but sadly we have to stick with the team now or nigel wil go with harding at lb and fox at lm and have lallana int he hole while guly reverts back to the left mid and bring chaplow on in the second half!
You shouldn't try and change the core of the team too much, that's all I am saying. Guly may be having an off period but he is still one f the best options we've got and I would always pick him ahead of Holmes or De Ridder (who is better as an impact sub)
My starting XI Davis Richardson Fonte Hooiveld Fox Guly/De Ridder Cork Hammond Lallana Lambert De Ridder/Connolly If Connolly is fit play him and then de ridder on the wing, if not then guly on the wing (RM) and de ridder up front next to rickie looking for the flick ons.
start of the season the majority would of been happy with top 10 finish but i also think the majority would of had crystal palace at home as a win on there predictor, i'm not underestimating palace and they do seem to be building a bit of consistency but i think the current saints team no matter who plays should be to good at home for palace. So basically nothing less than a win will be good enough and i fully expect the lads to be well up for this one.
Going to be a very tough game, hope they don't flood the midfield like most teams. If they do it's going to be a long day.
If Chaplow and Connolly are anywhere near fit, I would start them both, with Schneiderlin and Guly on the bench. If we are well ahead at half-time, bring on Guly and Spiderman. Otherwise De Ridder and Harding, moving Fox to LM and Lallana to the hole.
This is likely to be a tough high-paced game. I don't think this is the kind of game to start Chappers if he is back from injury, bring him on as a sub sure, but with a lot of pace in the Palace team we need players that are fully fit and used to playing matches, I could see Chappers being outpaced and getting himself sent off. I hope we are on our A game from the first whistle, get an early goal and the confidence should build from there. Can't see us keeping a clean sheet though.
I disagree on the clean sheet. Palace don't score many but they also don't concede. Lets just hope that the big crowd don't get frustrated if we don't get an early breakthrough. We need to get right behind them all game!
I agree that the crowd needs to stick with the team if things arnt going our way. I just think that we struggle against pace defensively, and with the pace in their team i can see them causing us a fair amount of problems. Hopefully im prooved wrong though!
