Did anybody actually hear this ?
Never heard a thing and I was very close to the Chelsea fans in W12. Everyone around me wondered what the announcement was about. About half a dozen Chelsea fans started a chant about paying our benefits, that caught on for a few seconds, so the stewards ejected a City fan sat near them.
All good natured really, if fact the Chelsea fans in the North Stand corner, near the West Stand applauded the City fans at the end, and they'd been plenty of banter between them all game.

I thought Slater was excellent tonight.

Really think Serg made a mistake playing Koumas instead of Joseph. Koumas had a good last few minutes but had a really hard time getting the ball and helping us get out, it just kept coming straight back.

It’s hard to judge any players as Chelsea are clearly significantly better, but I am keeping my eye on Yu’s end product. Hes very good at being all action but im not sure he is great near the box.

Pleased we weren’t disgraced, especially with the team we put out.

Now for the league.

I think what Sergej did in terms of leaving certain players out to avoid injury or give some who may be carrying slight niggles a longer rest was absolutely the right thing to do.
Were we outclassed? Yes, overall but there’s no shame in that given the relative squad values and the fact that we chose not to take unnecessary risks with our most important players.
Sergej now has a full week with the squad to come up with the right lineup and tactics to get us a positive result against QPR.

Agree. Gotta be honest, a team like Chelsea comes here and turns it on, and they did, there is little a club our level can do. Totally outclassed. But we have a good account of ourselves, we tried to play, we tried to win, they were just too good. No shame in that, and it doesn’t matter which 11 players we put out, if Chelsea come here and turn on the style we’re getting beat, no two ways about that. At least we made a game out of it and were unlucky not to score a couple of goals ourselves.

Putting aside the obvious gulf in quality and as such the result, that was a better game of football than we usually see. Free-flowing, well refereed and felt like the ball was in play a lot more than usual.

Was it that PL ref who was praised recently for standing his ground when VAR bizarrely suggested he should give a handball? Looked a bit like him. He seemed really good.

At 4-0 with 20 minutes to go I was a bit worried they were going to run up a daft score but whether it was them shutting up shop or us improving we seemed to get a lot more control late on and actually started causing them a few problems with balls over the top, which suddenly seemed strangely easy for us.

On the chanting, I don't know what anyone can do. It always seems that a tiny number of people doing it gets massively publicised. And maybe that's a good thing in some ways, because as Chelsea Pride say it shouldn't be ignored or minimised if it happened, but I think in some ways it's a bad thing too. It gives people a lot of power. I think most people were surprised by the statement before the game about chanting but I wonder if it inspired the odd person to do the very thing it asked them not to. I can't imagine City fans would be thinking to chant about "rent boys" because we're playing Chelsea. Maybe it gave them the idea, and by being the wrong thing to do it becomes the "edgy" thing to do. I do think the zero tolerance and 100% publicity approach isn't working because you're never going to get perfect compliance with humans and by platforming it so much you sort of keep it relevant when maybe it would die out otherwise.

Speaking of our support, there was one moment I enjoyed where Chelsea started up a "by far the greatest team" chant and got completely outshouted by the East stand singing it about us instead. Not often you see a full away end shouted down by a home crowd like that.

The crowd was really good and handled the result very well, but it was always going to be easier to support the team with lower expectations. We need to find that level of support when the team is 1-0 down in the Championship or struggling to break down a defence at 0-0. However we lost tonight it was always going to look brave and full of effort; and however we play when we're struggling at home against Championship ****e it will always look bad even if maybe they actually are giving it their all and it's just not coming off. We need to remember that and not get carried away with the moans and groans.

Well that went pretty much as expected with the team we put out. Key players rested, we’ve bigger and better fish to fry in the league. Note to the recruitment team, better back up keeper required.
Not a better first choice keeper? That's more important. Much easier if you play week in week out I expect. This game was always going to be lost if Chelsea turned up, with or without Hughes defending (who for many here is our star player).

No disgrace in tonight - just hope the absentees were rested rather than injured - if so, better times ahead hopefully.

Thought the Chelsea fans were poor, but their 'mauled by the Chelsea' (complete with actions) just highlights the infamy and currency of our own song.

How many times, in our history, have we been known nationally for our own song?

Only black spot was the commentator (not sure if same one as BBC) said upon kick off "and hull city get us under way in their famous gold and black"

Haha what, **** off.

I agree with Bamberbloo or whatever. Pandur, Hughes, Crooks and McBurnie. You can draw a straight line of '****s' missing through our centre tonight. I'll never understand our defending at corners? Ignore what the **** next to you is doing. There is one ball. Keep your eye on it, and head the ****er.

Think he should have started Joseph instead of Yu, personally.

Koumas had little service but ran his nuts off and brought some quality. Unlucky twice not to score.

Yu didn't have the advantage of pace against this lot, as a result just got gut bullied out of it.
