I hope James gives us a better show than our last Tottenham signing - and is less injury prone.

BBM will need to be careful with his team sheet spellings with 2 Zac Davies' in the club.

Either way on the positive side a small investments in 2 youngsters who could develop into first team players rather than spunk cash on total failures - no need to name them again. We all know who they were.

Well! Academy kids have done most of the heavy lifting this season so far.......and rather well. Some brash little ****er from the Premiership is likely to shake a few trees!

Is that "shake a few trees" comment anything to do with the fact that Isaac Davies Mk 11 has come to us from Nottingham Forest?

Our font of all knowledge, WalesonLine, reports BBM saying little likely to happen with incomings.
Maybe some more youngsters going out on loan.

Perhaps not the outcome we wanted particularly with a new striker but Scanlon looks versatile and can cover most of the left side positions.
It’s asking a lot of the few strikers we’ve got to score regularly between now and end of the season.

Well Salech and Robbo have got 17 league goals between them this season out of 52, so the other 35 so far must have come from somewhere else.

I think we have 17 players (could be 18) who have scored league goals so far. Notable absentees, Osho, Tanner and...... Trott. He should get a video of Benfica's keeper v Real Madrid.

Robinson is at best an impact player off the bench. Salech is our focal point. City need him fit until the end of the season. Playing players out of position may work out now and then but not over a period of time.

Whatever you know my views but if BBM didn’t (publicly at least) see a striker as a must then I’ll go with him; he’s done as well up to now and better than expected hasn’t he?

If Salech is injured, we find another way, like putting 4 past Barnsley last Tuesday without him.

We're top scorers in League One with 52 goals and Salech has notched 12 of them, and it's fair to say he's probably missed as many he probably should have scored. The other 40 goals have come from all over the pitch and there's no reason why that can't continue with BBM at the helm.

It's been said before, but we went up to the Prem as Championship Champions under Malky with Helguson top scorer for the season with 9.

I'd have liked another out and out striker no question, but there's enough skill already available to put the ball in the net at this level, and it doesn't need to be from a centre forward either as already proven.

Ive said it repeatedly, Ive never felt the need for a 20+ goal player. Whenever we've been in the play offs or promoted we havent had one. Whenever we've had one, we've finished mid-table. Much better to share them around. Less dependent on one player.

I like Salech. I like the guy himself and the committment he shows on the pitch despite the referee's one eyed decisions regarding his disgraceful treatment by opposition defenders.

He's learning but still has a lot to learn. 12 goals so far is arguably half of what he should have had if we're honest about it.

What's to say Robinson wouldn't have got to at least 12 goals by now if he'd been selected as many times as Salech to start games? Different player altogether, but reckon he'd have bagged more than the 5 he's got so far given the chance.

If we were at the bottom of the table I might have a different perspective.

You're right that Salech has left a lot out there.
And the goals per minute for Robinson is better than Salech's.

Id have thought we've got the midfield to supply Robinson, but we've not seen it consistently yet.

Its getting towards squeeky bottom time, but we need to believe in BBM. He hasnt got much wrong this season.

Well, it was a bit of an anti-climax, but BBM suggested as much early in the window.
Cleared out a few of the players he didn't fancy (2 keepers mainly), recruited a keeper and a much needed LB who can play further forward.
I think if he was going to sign a 'Salech like' striker, Robinson would have gone.
It has been refreshing to have a manager who has a plan, is moving on players who don't fit, judiciously recruiting players that do and only signing players that enhance us as a club. No scattergun approach. Structured and methodical. Quality over quantity. I would have liked another permie outfield signing during the window. We might have a bit more work to do in the summer.
Hopefully Trott signs permanently if we get promoted (not getting ahead of myself). That would leave us a few upgrades elsewhere. If BBM's view that players and the team will improve further during the run in, we shouldn't need too much. Another striker and an upgrade out wide. Dak and Tan might be ready to step up after their loans which covers Wintle and RW, with options at 8 from Colwill Jnr, Robertson and Turnbull. With Kellyman returning to Chelsea, cover at 10 may be needed over and above Turnbull. Saying that, if we do get promoted, maybe we'll get Kellyman back for another year.

All in all a better position to be in than we've been over the last 5 years.

It's impossible to prove right now, but I think our current squad topping League One for the past few months would be mid table competitive in the Championship should we go up - before I get shot down, it's only an opinion.

There's a lot more to come from the youngsters, and even the older players right now won't be "old" next year. The one crucial factor in that would be retaining BBM and his staff as manager to continue the huge improvement we've seen since he's been here.

It wouldn't take a huge influx of new players if we want to consolidate our position in the Championship. A few astute decisions from BBM and Patrick Deboys should be enough to strengthen the squad and more than just ensure survival.

I don't see BBM asking VT for considerable funds to acquire ready made quality players. His belief in himself and those around him to get the best out of what he's already got got and others he'd like to bring in may be enough.

More expensive ready made "stars" with track records don't figure in his past experience, being more content to bring the best out of players he's got around him whilst recognising areas in which we need to improve. I don't think the "Wrexham model" is for him

Tan needs to encourage him with support for what he wants to do rather than an expensive wish list from us lot.
