I like Egan a lot and he offers leadership and stability but if we can sell him and keep Hughes this window, I can’t argue against that. We paid £250,000 for a 32-year-old player who couldn’t get a game for Burnley and we could make a profit a year later. Not too shabby.
Is his contract up end of the season?
It’ll be his agent trying to get an extension here!
**** him
He’s not that good and will be a passenger in the PL next season

He's with us until summer '27 it seems, courtesy of wiki

On 2 January 2026, Egan triggered an appearance-related clause in his contract that will see him stay at Hull until the summer of 2027

We've also got Ajayi, Famewo, McCarthy, Debayo and now McNair who can all play at centre half. I can't see it being an issue if he leaves, but I hope he doesn't.

It was supposed to be but his original deal had an appearance clause and it got extended to summer 2027 automatically.

Agreed. We actually have a lot of centre-back options now. Ajayi always injured but we expected that but even then we have Hughes, Egan, Famewo, Debayo, McNair and McCarthy so we’ve currently got five senior centre-backs and two under-21s in and around the first team.

We have no idea how reliable Famewo, Debayo or Mcnair are at CB. McCarthy cannot play as a CB in a back 4. Ajayi is injured.

At present we only have Egan and Hughes who can actually be relied on at cb.

On that theory you can never bring in a new CB as you dont know if they can be relied upon
