Hulkenburg took part in 14 practice session this year, and 8 times he was the faster Force India driver. It was 6-2 when he was up against Di Resta.

So he lost 4-2 to Sutil? so surely since Sutil beat the man who thrased di resta, he himself would thrash di resta, according to f1 fanatic, their qualifying was 9-9 (i dont know if they haven't updated it for brazil or if they discounted a Q3 where neither of them drove)

This leads me to the startling conclusion that practice means nothing.

i cannot understand why they have dropped sutil for hulkenberg?

i can uderstand why tehy kept di resta as he had a great first season, but
sutil is an excellent driver who showed real pace once he had figured out the pirelli tyres with some great performances including 6th place in monaco and brazil.

hulkenberg on the other hand is completely overrated. he had a medicore season, he scored half the amount of points that barichello had and had a pole position that was due to wet set up and glory on the saturday whhen everyone knew that it was going to be a dry race.

they say that F1 teams choose the best two drivers possible, well force india really messed up didn't they. i guarentee you this time next year force india will realise how bad a mistake they made. i hope that hulkenberg epically fails

I don't think there are many on this forum who genuinely believe booting Sutil out was a good idea for FI.
They will struggle next year I think, they'll miss Sutil's leadership.

i hope that hulkenberg epically fails...

That's not very nice! I'm reserving judgement on Hulk until the end of the 2012 season. I find it difficult to label him as having a 'mediocre' 2010 season, especially when Rubens was coming off a relatively successful 2009 campaign. Plus, all 4 of Hulk's retirements were results of mechanical failures or collisions caused by other people. That Williams was 'inconsistency' in motorised form! Sometimes it achieved 4th, other times it was at the back of the pack.

Sutil needed to move on, he'd been there too long and I think it will do him good to work with another team.

I agree Sutil needed a fresh change but Williams may be a step down, Unless he can bring them back to form then it will be a great challenge for him. If he wants to beniffit his carear to get a winning car though I would risk a test seat at merc, why not? Rosberg or Shumi may leave after 2012.

The Mercedes seat is nailed on for Di Resta though isn't it.
Realistically speaking, Williams is Sutil's best bet. (Well, his only real bet but you get the point) Regular racing in the midfield hopefully, a fresh start at a team that's recuperating as it is, and a chance to once again prove himself as a team leader.

I thought he was after Massa's seat for 2013.

Sutil

That's why reportedly he only wants a one-year contract with Williams.

Can't fault the guy for having ambition but I reckon he'll be forced to come crawling back. Can't see Ferrari not promoting one of their own.

At Lotus, STR and Force India, which drivers get the higher numbers?
Raikkonen, Ricciardo, di Resta

fair enough it was a bit uncalled for, but it is fair to say that hulkenberg is highly overrated and i think that force india will regret their decision.

sutil was not completely faultless inhis situation however, i think that his bust up with eric boullier cost him a place at renault in place of grosjean. but with a bit of luck in the future i do see him in a car like mercedes or even the Mclaren and to be honest its quite exciting to see what the williams is going to be like next year. i would love for it to be on par with the force india car next year to have an epic three way midfield battle, anyone agree?

I'd like to see Williams doing better, up there fighting maybe even Mercedes, but the way they're going about things recently they don't deserve it. As for Force India, its a bold move, but one I feel may pay off in the end.

Like I said, I'm going to wait and see on the Hulk front. I agree though that the midfield scraps next year should be pretty interesting if Williams can get their cars sorted.
