Quite a nice fixture for Newcastle to help heal last night's wounds. It's unfortunate that wolves are coming into this off the back of a big win though.

I don't want to see Wissa, Elanga anywhere near the starting 11 On Sunday and I don't want to see Barnes on the right. Get Barnes in his position...Gordon? Drop him or move him. Tonali? Did well last night, so he probably has to start. Ramsey is getting pelters, but I think he played well until his head injury... He seems a bit soft.. Like he's made of cotton wool.

The money spent in the summer looks to have all been largely wasted at this point... Thiaw and Woltemade are exceptions to that and now we're dropping Woltemade for a player that's done nothing so far.

This side needs far too many passes to create chances and it breaks down in the final 3rd almost every single time. It also doesn't seem like you need many opportunities to score past Newcastle, so the results feel like we did well even when we lose. Unfortunately conceding and scoring are the first port of call in judging performance not passing around in front of the opposition.

Regardless of some very obvious problems upto and including fatigue I'll back them to edge this 1-2 though because wolves are the worst PL side PL in the country.

I tend to refer to the team I support as "us" or "we" rather than Newcastle....

Wissa has look so bad in the last few games that he needs to be dropped, we could have easily won last night, he puts away that golden chance on 5 mins, and the game's totally different. He'll get back up to speed, but we can't have him ballsing up all our chances right now. Nick, Gordon and Barnes as the front 3.

How many times do I have to say it, Munson clearly has autism and these things should be treated as such

It really doesn't matter if you say we or Newcastle. I'd make a case Newcastle is far more accurate though.

Disagree about Wissa and Elanga, they both need to start.

Wissa is still getting back to match fitness and will be rusty, Elanga is a confidence player and has none, they need to play and get used to the new teammates and tactics.

Well you might be right but what if they're just going to cost us wins?

0-3 Newcastle, Botman, Walt & Elanga

However knowing our luck it will be the reverse with Strand Larsson getting a hat trick

Woltemade to start over Wissa. Murphy to start over Elanga.

Get ahead by 2 goals and only then do they come on for confidence building.

We can’t afford to give these guys a game under the circumstances because they have flattered to deceive most of the season (Wissa since he returned).

Ramsey has been average at best also.

Gordon needs to raise his game so I would drop him for Barnes.

Trippier needs to be nowhere near the team.

Murphy won't play after his hamstring against City so I'd say it's likely to be Gordon and Barnes starting with Elanga coming on later on.

Agree with a Woltemade start.

I would start Ramsey instead of big Joe in this one. J7 looked done on 70 minutes vs City and I think Ramsey looked decent in that game as well. More minutes will be good for him.

Miley has to continue at RB, I just don't trust that Trippier can keep up with the game at the moment, especially if he comes up against that Mane kid.

Yes good shout about Murphy I forgot that he went off injured.

Miley definately at RB.

Ramsey just needs to get some form of statistical assist or goal for me. I don’t see much of a decent player atm but maybe I’m being harsh.

Need to win as the next 10-11 games are brutal.

I am worried about the PSV game, everyone seems to think we are through to the knock out stages. It would be typical Newcastle to miss out by losing the final 2 CL games......

We'll be in the last 32 play-off.

I am happy to give Wissa another go. He is still getting back to match fitness but looks generally sharper to me than Woltemade. I wasn't impressed with the latter at all midweek. I know its harder coming on as a sub, but he looked off the pace, his control was poor and he didn't cause the defenders any problems.

Elanga is a different matter. Maybe he is just heavily affected by a lack of confidence but he copuldn't seem to do anything right.
