Kemi Badenoch has sacked Robert Jenrick. <laugh>

Wow, she has found he was planning a big defection to Reform

Probably wanted to take the wind out of his sails. Reform about to get another MP

I thought he was her biggest competitor, so I assumed she just removed the competition. I know those were the final two that went head to head to contest leadership. Don't know about any defection, maybe I've missed or forgotten something.

Edit: or maybe suggestion he was going to defect?

Ah you are right @Welshie - Badenoch said he was secretly plotting to defect.

She's been getting some good press recently, he might have thought she had a real shot of challenging the election and they'd all lose their seats.

Must have thought "**** this noise" and decided Reform was the winning ticket.

Yeah I noted her popularity had gone up, according to the media that is, I don't look at polls. She's been presenting herself a bit better lately in dress and language (presentation). Sadly I have a real issue with the Tories and Reform, so it leaves me in no man land regarding voting. They all make good bantz material on here though.

Reform are the intriguing one, whilst Kemi is doing a bit better their numbers have barely budged.

Reform have had a healthy poll lead now for months, they could also become opposition in both Wales and Scotland, which would be monumental.

The issue I see is Reform is a cult of personality and he's so unwilling to give out power - Reform are challenging the Holyrood elections and only just found a Scottish leader today to take them into the election.

Welsh Reform still don't even have a leader.

All that being said, the fact they're polling so high without even a local representative shows that this Reform phenomenon is serious, doing so well in Scotland is mental.

Wouldn't be surprised if a Reform government did away with the devolved parliaments

I expect Jenrick's Mrs rules the roost on this one, I never forget her look when it was shown live her old man losing the leadership contest to Badenoch, it was one of absolute disgust, like her snotty nose had been put out of joint. <laugh>

Farage and Jenrick using the news media prime time slot to talk about the defection. However, apparently he wasn't going to defect, Badenoch jumped the gun. But Farage has said there will be a Labour defection next week...now he welcomes Robert Jenrick to Reform and to the room.

Cringe.

Reform with Tory sprinkles. You have to question voting Reform now it's just the Tory Party in disguise.
Will we even be able to call the Tories the opposition if the defections carry on like this. Jenrick saying Britain is broken, er...yeah we know, you broke it!

For me it's the worst move Reform could make, because I didn't particularly like Jenrick in the Tory leadership race, he's nowt more than a chancer now, knows his ambition to be PM under the Tories is dead, so tries Reform instead, personally I think it's a bad career move. If anything I think he would have been better off sticking with the Tories. I'm really not convinced that Reform has the backing that I'm told the polls suggest. Yes Britain is broke, because we haven't got a decent political party left to vote for, they are all dead ducks desperately trying to cling on.

I struggle to believe that any Reformer is happy with him onboard - other than his political know how around Parliament, which I agree Reform desperately need, but voters in the main don't care about that ****.

I know <laugh> I'd never have voted for that **** under the Tories - I don't even know how he got to the position he did.

I have never made a secret of my dislike of Farage.

This is the bloke who went out sourcing hotels for migrants, bragging about it(Jenrick)

Might just be he wants out of politics after the next election and he’s fallen out with Badenoch and the others so it’s a bit of a **** you. Could be he fancies his chances of being re-elected more as Reform, in Newark or somewhere else. Career going nowhere fast and you’d say as it is that there’s more chance of Reform being the main party in the next Parliament, probably in a coalition.

It probably will add to their appeal a bit. Doubt the average bloke in the street will know about it nor care.

Most likely now I’ve typed that out I reckon he’s just gone with the ‘**** you’ option and Badenoch has told him to **** off back. I realise I care even less having typed it.

Jenrick made some remark about terrorist migrants, and that only 1 in 20 work, put that into the context of what you just wrote it shows what a two faced little **** he is, he created this mess, he didn't find solutions, he found sticky plasters for cuts that have now scabbed and become infected.

I really don't get this move by him, I'd be interested to know if his Mrs supported it. I just hope the Tories don't ever allow any of these defectors back, maybe it's a good way to get rid of all the dead wood, it might actually be doing the Conservatives a favour ready for the next election in years to come.
